I was wondering if anyone can help me out, Ive been grabbing up parts for the last 3 weeks or so alot of resin from MMM and possibly a shell and bumper from Exoray. I have just about everything but was wondering if anyone has a list or knows what hardware is need to assemble such as bolts, screws,nuts and whatever else preferably specific dimensions thanks a lot in advance
I get what you’re trying to do here but I don’t think a comprehensive list of ALL needed parts is available. (Not that I’ve seen anyway… But I’m pretty new here too so.) Examination of the reference photos is required and no matter how prepared you believe you are, you’ll still probably have to make a part run… lol
It would be nice to have everything at the start like a Lego set. Unfortunately, builds vary from person to person. Good luck!
are you looking to make a movie accurate pack? or looking for alternatives to things that you cant find/too expensive? sometimes traditional parts or methods arent exactly practical or cost effective.
for instance, attatching the gun to the pack is a real chore to get the parts for, or make yourself (the name of the parts escape me, but its basically sliding the gun onto a track, which is no easy feat when youre walking around with it on your back). I went on the boards and someone pointed out that the belt clip from a tape measurer slides right in and out of just about anything. so yeh, for $1.50, i took care of that with a dollar store tape measurer, and 2 wide u-nails. it looked professional, and was 10x easier to use when on the go.
just an example to show you just how many avenues you can take, and how many thousands of ideas are out there. heres a link to a parts thread i guess as a reference, but things vary all the time.
Those are called V-hooks. They are custom made by momeraths24 here: viewtopic.php?f=3
basically what i am looking for are for instance the type of screw used to attach the v-hooks what is the type of screw, size etc. just basic mounting hardware or cosmetic hardware used on a accurate pack . I have all the actual parts(or know where to get them) im just having a hard time finding out mounting hardware
I include hardware with most of my parts offered (ie: ribbon clamps, HGA, motherboard mounting kit)
Allen bolts
Ribbon clamp #8 x 1" long x 2
Ribbon P-clip #10 x 1" long x 1
HGA 1/4" x 1/4" long x 5
Motherboard mounts 1/4" x 1.25" long x 4
Booster frame #10 x 1" long x 1 (p-clip bolt holds the bottom end)
Resistors #4 x 3/8" long x 4
Dixie V-hook spacer #10 x 1" long x 2
Pan head Phillips
Bumper 1/4" x 1.5" long x 4 (nut on the inside of the shell)
Dixie V-hook #10 x 1/2" long x 2
These are just off the top of my head, bolt lengths may vary depending on thickness of parts, whether you want a nut on the bolt, as far as screen accuracy goes I’m not sure where you would find that info.
