Hello all. I recently acquired a proton pack, FINALLY! its terrific and I’m very happy with it, but there are a few mods I want to make. ive added a home made S-hook & the barrel light was just flopping around, so i inserted it into a piece of clear pneumatic hosing that has threading and its looks wicked !
The next mod is the vent light. its just not bright enough for me. I tried adjusting the switch on the board but it made only a small difference. a friend suggested using a flashlight cone to make it appear brighter but its really tight in the wand & IDK if it will still have the desired effect.
I will warn you that I have virtually no wiring experience so any solution you may have will need to be simple or ill mess it up badly. also, you may see that the light is just loose in there and I’m not sure what’s the best way to correct that also.
the best vent light I’ve seen is in the Mattel wand, but I don’t want to rip that apart and destroy it for something like this. if you can help, id greatly appreciate it! thank you!
Its fairly bright coming through the top too. Its just a strobe like kit that I pulled the light out of and repurposed the shroud. Drill out the hole a wee bit to accommodate the bigger bulb and a dab of super glue and voila!
Im planning to go with the flashlight cones for the vent lights and the cyclotron lights…that’s my PLAN…not at that part of my build yet tho…so stay tuned for frustrations and cries for help…lol.
i used a cone from a c-cell military angle flashlight. it was a very tight fit into the crix aluminum wand. it left no gaps in the vent to where you could see the inside of the body. i kept the screw-in piece that held the original bulb for the flash light, slightly shaving the insides to fit the vent light through. i would recommend using some glue dots to hold the cone in place. i did not know about these when i was putting mine in there. had a fight with some hot glue and burned the sh*t out of my palm.
