I find the fit just right. Snug enough to keep the PKE Meter from coming out on its own, but not so much that it won’t slide out freely when using only one hand. The leather’s new and natually stiff, but it’s a nice thickness that it would be easy to soften it one wished it.
I just went out today and bought my craftsman pke holster. The only problem i have is the handle being pushed all the way out the bottom. It seems like the two leather straps at the bottom are to close together and there isn’t a big enough gap. I saw everyones fitting in there so snug. I guess i have to cut the leather to make it a bigger hole.
I dont reckon it’s a big deal, but is anyone else having problems now with their costumes since adding this extra item on their belt. I can only speak for myself, but with all the ghostbusters belt props I am having a slight problem being mobile in full costume now.
To me it is seeming a tad overkill having a belt so busy… and I haven’t even got my belt clips or gloves resting on my belt in this pic either.
thinks: maybe I should be eating more twinkies? To give myself more waistline to work with.
I’m getting a feeling that I may need to adjust my tech accordingly to who I am busting with, so its similar to how it was in the first movie. so its only 1 trap per team and likewise with the pke.
you could see about moving your radio to a shoulder strap, or getting rid of the dated thing all together since everyone has cell phones now(some with 2 way radio) anyway.
Did not see anyone post any pics on this, so I thought I would share. Just got my holster last night and with very little modding with a xacto knife, this is what I have. I chose the Arsenal because it matched my leather trap holster and belt thingy.
Grabbed one of the leather tape measure holsters at Lowes… not the best looking one, since it isn’t symmetrical and has AWP branded on the front, but it will get me through 'til I find a better looking one. Going to dye the leather this weekend.
I spent a good bit of time prying the rivet for the strap off the side with only a pair of pliers, should have gone to my toolbox and cut the washer off the inside.
i just recently bought myself a tan leather holster, and used kiwi black shoe polished. I sanded the leather up a bit to look weather and blotted on the polish. it took several coats but it looks nice now. Dont have a shoe repair shop anywhere around and needed a holster quick. it worked. so thats always an option.
I was thinking of snagging one of those Arsenal holsters if I don’t find anything locally, confidence boosted. I lacked an xacto knives but I do have a utility knife.
well in a mad rush now to finish my uniform for the 29th, i was running threw my notes and noticed i didnt order this craftsman holster! dang! i go online and am just about to order it when i see that the sears 2 minutes down the road from me has 2 in stock! or at least thats what the website said. i need more solder for my gizmo anyway so i threw my shoes on and booked over there
I got one of those Arsenal holders from Amazon yesterday. I haven’t modded it yet, but will shortly. After I cut out the section on the bottom for the handle to slide thru, I think I will darken up the cut edges with a sharpie marker.
