Home made Pack.

Hi guys, I’m new here, seems like most of you already know each other. Anyways, I’m new to the whole prop building thing as well. I figured I wanted a kick-ass costume this year for Halloween, and what better costume that a Ghostbuster, right?

So anyways, I started out working on my costume, with like no clue what I was doing. I didn’t have a lot of cash, and really didn’t know how to go about getting the materials to make a professional pack like you guys. So basically, I was stuck with only one option, to start from scratch, gather what parts I could from the hardware stores and Radio Shack, and give it a shot.

Now mind you, I’m well aware that among people such as yourself, this pack is sub-par at best, because basically, though the general idea is expressed that it is indeed a proton pack, anyone who knew a vast amount of knowledge (such as yourselves) on the actual design of the proton pack would easily spot the inaccuracies. However, I’m also assuming that while such educated people as yourselves could spot the fake, the majority of the masses are not as educated, and really won’t know the difference.

So basically, here I am an armature among gods, but my pack should be sufficient enough that I hope in public, I will be a god among the amateurs.

Now mind you, though I’ve never done any prop building before, I do have a few things going for me in my favor. For one, I already work at a hardware store, so I am familiar with a lot of materials that could be used for such a project. Second, I have tinkered around with computer mods before, so I’m a bit familiar with wiring and lights, and am quite skilled with a soldering iron.

So basicly, I knew I wanted it to look convincing to the masses, I wanted it to have lights and sound, and though the results aren’t as perfect as the people’s here, I think it turned out prety good. Besides, ya gotta start somewhere, am I right?

So here’s a few pictures of the finished product, please feel free to share your opinions with me, or if you have any questions, please ask, I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Nicely done! Awesome amount of detail!

I guess I’m new here also…Hi!

Darrin

hahaha thats awsome man!

ha ha, you humble sod you! However, I kow how you feel. I’ve just started building my own pack and I’m worried that if I post pics I’ll get laughed off the forums.

But I really love your pack. What you say aobut the masses is true. Hell, I’ve been a ■■■■■■■■ GB fan for 15 year and I don’t know all the ins and out of the proton pack, so the average mug down the street isn’t going to notice either. It’s this thought that lets me sleep at night.

But your pack is brilliant! I really love the detail, its top notch. Well done!

this is a great pack. very well done

I feel a great revival coming about. Well done, my friend.
