I an trying to make a PKE meter (a la the RGB cartoon version) with a black project box. However, I don’t know where to begin with assembling the antenna rod in the middle, the part that is pulled up and out from the top. I already have some telescoping TV antenna parts for the wings. Does anyone have any idea about how to construct the rod? Thanks.

It’s a real pain in the ass going that route though.
Here’s mine:
I used five pieces of brass sheet on the tower, top and bottom plates, two side plates and one across the side that mounts to the box. I silver soldered them together and painted it. The two arms are brass tubes that fit the two yellow clip lights and are painted red they simply slide into another brass tube that was split to attach to the top and bottom of of the two gears that drive the arms up and down.
