How do I delete my account? I cannot find an option anywhere…?
To my knowledge it isn’t possible.

I keep getting emails, and I’m not that into Ghostbusters.
This site has some great reference and I needed it for a school project, but now I’d like to delete my account so I stop getting those emails.
You can disable those in your User Control Panel.
Correct.
Just disable “Recieve Emails from Administrators”.
That way you can retain your account but stop recieving annoying emails.

I don’t think they are bad.. you would be surprised at how many people hate you when you send out an email. Hundreds and hundreds of spam emails people get everyday, and the one that is… well.. not spam… yet.. unexpected.. people go crazy.
He could have “Notify me when a Reply is Posted” as well as Notification for PMs turned on as well, which could become annoying 
Ive never gotten a sigle email from this site.
Even if I can turn these emails off, which I will… I would think it should be a simple matter to delete an account, or at least have the option to. Maybe it’s not a standard forum thing…?
Oh it’s quite simple. But overall it is simply more efficent for you to turn your emails off. Perhaps one day you decided to return and then would require reregistering, which will have taken more time than the entire deletion process or the profile updating process - ergo not as efficent.
The main reason for not deleteing an account is because you have participated in the site. If the account were deleted it would break the codes somewhere else.

If you’ve got them turned on in your preferences, they’re probably getting funneled into your junk mail folder.
I have had my account for one day and already regretting it, I HATE THIS SITE, ITS NOT FUN AND EVERYONE ON HERE ARE JERKS!!

You really need to develop a thicker skin.
You really can’t expect a good reaction when you post a not very well thought out idea in one of the most heated and opinionated sections of the forum.
Especially when you claim to be a professionally-oriented writer who has little skill in that actual area.
