Hyperdyne Proton Pack Sound Help

Hello!

Last Halloween I purchased a Hyperdyne sound kit for my proton pack. It works great. I was just wondering if anyone else who bought one tried to change the sounds in it? I have my own stream sound and wanted to put it in there. I did exactly as the instructions say and that doesn’t work. I talked to hyperdyne last year and he basically told me what the instructions said to do. I even tried converting the file using the Audacity music editor. If anyone has done this successfully then please let me know. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey! sorry this is 3 years late but in case your still wondering…

In order to convert the file, the best way to do this is by downloading the audio program goldwave. Once downloaded, open the song you want in the program. Once it’s in the program all you have to do is click “save as” once that window comes up look under the file name and another box is there for you to choose which format to save it as. Select WAV. Then, underneath that is another box titled “attributes.” Select PCM signed 16bit mono for that box, then click save! Now you have a audio file in the correct format for hyperdynes soundsystem.

Drop the new formatted file into the sound card window on your computer. Now depending on your board, mine is fairly new, 3 years old, the songs that come on it are programmed .006-.008. Even though they say this they come on as button presses 1-3. Once you drop the song in the sound card window rename the .wav at the end of your file to your choice of .006,.007, or the GB theme .008. After that you must change the name of the other .006 or what ever number you choose so that the card is not confused. I just deleted the .006 at the end of the original file and left it on the card in case I want to use it again later.

Once all the names have been correctly changed you’re done!!! Now go check it out! I hope this is useful for some as it was for me!

This thread just saved me 50$ !!!

Wow.. I spent numerous emails and countless converters and forums trying to get this to work and your post fixed all the dumb founded confusion that hyperdyne caused. Amazing product through and through but changing sounds is IMPOSSIBLE with their directions solely.

A new problem has arisen.

For some reason, the sound card changes the pitch or speed of any new file. It’s really weird. I didn’t notice it at first when I popped in the first few sounds but now it’s really grating.

I did set the files to wav and they were set to PCM signed 16bit mono.

I’m still fiddling with it to see what I did.

The model I have seems to be the 2006 model, so I have no idea if that means anything.

UPDATE: Changing the attributes has improved the sound, but I haven’t found the right one.

What program are you using to change the file types? I never had that issue with mine. I used Switch Sound File converter Plus by NCH and had zero issues once I used your quick fix.

Goldwave

I’ll try yours.

My card is not readable caused by a damaged reader/writer for the card. Trying to find the files or commands so that i can reprogram from scratch

rune236 - Holy ■■■■ it worked! Just thought I would randomly try this again after all these years and saw that you had responded to me 3 years ago. It worked like a charm! Hope you see this because I just want to say a huge thank you to you!

MK87 you’re welcome! Talk about 3 years cycles. haha. Glad it worked!
