Although it’s not been established as a specific rule, there’ve been instances in the past where we’ve had folks posting “emoticon posts” as a means of inflating their post count, so at the very least it should be discouraged. A post only containing an emoticon is no substitute for something that’s actually been written.
I can’t speak for him, but I can share what I am doing…
I used a Cricut cutting machine (lots of arts and crafts uses) to cut out the numbers in reverse on a piece of vinyl. I then put a little frosted scotch tape behind it.
Once I put it inside the box and add a green led behind it, BAM! Quick, cheap, Digital display!
Quick and cheap if you have such a machine! haha Scratching my head trying to figure out how to do this with what I have around the house. Only have till next weekend to finish.
You could print the numbers on card stock and use an exacto to cut them out. Not too hard…just be sure to leave enough gaps to hold the center parts in place until you add clear tape to it.
Not to sound stereotypical, but ask any artsy Moms around you, I have several friends who are Moms that have these machines.
Also, I have been told some libraries have them for free use.
