Last night I finally beat Ghostbusters: The Video Game and I was a bit underwhelmed by the ending. I was hoping for more and really didn’t want it to end! I really enjoyed myself with it and the only reason it took me so long to beat it was because in the past whenever I tried to resume the game, it wouldn’t save. It was so annoying. I would get really far in the game, and when I stepped out, I’d of course turn off my system. It already had an autosave feature as all video games do these days; but this particular game just wasn’t saving. After a while, it just got old and I stopped playing it.
As of last week, I had the urge to play the game again after the buzz about the upcoming film. I put it in, and what do you know? It let me resume my last game! So, I played it and a few days later, I finally beat it! It was awesome and I really didn’t want it to end. Did any of you guys experience this problem with the game at all?
I liked the ending up until the Slimer bit. Something about it felt stilted and… off.
But I enjoyed the battle with the Architect. I really liked seeing Shandor as a ghost before he became a god. I wish there had been a little more to that.
I totally agree! The Slimer ending was a bit lame but I’m guessing they really wanted to end it in the way the original film ended with him floating towards the screen.
I know exactly what you mean about the game having problems with the autosave. I thought it was just me! One day, having a lot of time on my hands, I put the game in thinking it was going to start at the beginning, when I saw it say “Resume Game”. I was totally surprised and ever since it continued from where I last left off.
