I just don't get it.....

After witnessing the barrage of comments that ensued when someone listed a pack on Ebay recently (albeit with lousy pics) and for a rediculous price (for what it was) and then the pack not selling, probably as a result of said barrage and then noone sees this:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140138548293&rd=1&rd=1

It sells for $1,825.00 and noone here so much as utters a peep about it…I just don’t get it :?

I sure hope the bidders happy with it when he/she gets it cause I sure wouldn’t pay $1,825 for a far from screen accurate pack. My 2 cents…oh and feel free to comment :frowning:

hmmm, i think i know which pack was the previous you mentioned. i think that person got a lot of flak due to the fact that the pictures given were far more misleading than the one that’s going for the (albeit obscene) price you mentioned.

granted, i wouldn’t pay that much for a pack, but some people obviously would. The auction didn’t hide things that weren’t accurate, though. The pics showed exactly what the buyer was bidding on.

…and no…i am not one of the bidders trying to defend the seller :)…i gots me my own HOME MADE nuclear accelerator.

It´s like the other day!!! I´ve been trying to buy for 3 times , an interesting set of machined ion arm and gun knobs. They looked amazing… but every time the auction started very low and ended at $109.00 !! By the same person!!! (suspicous???) I guess some times, they make their friends bid just to make the price higher… i doubt that someone payed that amount for such a pack…

Well, hope this doesn´t make any controversy.

Cheers!!!

SAl

The same person who bought the pack also bought the ion arm and gun knobs you mentioned Sal. I would never bid on an auction that keeps the bidder names private (too fishy) , just one of Ebays many shortcomings.

i think that person that makes thosee knobs and stuff is making them himself…i thought there was a thing in the for sale section by him…said something like having plenty of material to make many runs

yeah! That´s him. They look pretty good!!!

Never saw this auction. Someone has too much money to throw around. Amazes me how a crap pack like that will sell for almost $2,000 and others that are as close accurate as you can get won’t sell for more than $1,000. WTF??

I saw this auction near the start and thought about meantioning it but i decided it wasn’t my place to slag people’s work on these or any other forums…

nowhere in the description does it meantion that it is accurate to any plans or anything… all they meantioned was that it looks accurate and to any normal person, it would…

I don´t believe anyone would spend that amount on that pack. Notice the gun was broken? The auction doesn´t look legit to me… i don´t know… :?

I will not say who the orginal owner is becuase i dont want him to get a shit load of emails about a pack he sold years ago but i will tell you what its made up of.To start its a paranorman that was custome built about 5 years ago with all of ken aka volgus’s parts, with a correct gun box rather then the electrical box norm uses now.hyperdyne light board and orginal sound kit,And the gun is one of venkman71’s orginal guns, and had a cpu64 gun hook. This pack was bad ass back in its day!!!This pack is why i got into ghostbusters props in the first place.I had the joy of spending a whole weekend with this pack when it was first built and all i could say is wow…But it looks like the second owner was alittle less carefull then the orginal.Ive never seen anyone be so carefull with a prop then the previous owner.Im sad to see it in the condition its in now..Still a very nice prop with alittle TLC…I would love to have it in my collection to return it back to its glory!!!

I think the reason the pack went for so much is the sound. Those sound kits are expensive and when the auction opened it was reasonably priced for a pack with sound. I guess people just got carried away. I didn’t think the pack itself looked TOO bad I mean with the right know how it could of been turned into a nice pack. Heck you could of even just stole the sound of it and put it in a shell. But you are so right 1800 is way too much for a pack like that. I agree.
