I just received a script from the first ghostbusters movie signed by bill murray with a letter of authenticity for christmas. I need to know how rare this is and whether or not it’s worth some money. Just curious.
Unfortunatly letters of “authenticity” don’t really mean much and there are a LOT of people selling fake autographs in general. The only autographs I have are the ones I obtain in person and even then I get them rarely. As a rule I don’t pay people for them to sign their name, pretty much unless you see it yourself or video it maybe, there’s no way to really prove it so its worth whatever someone else is willing to pay for it.
i hope the only reason you’d want to know it’s value is for some sort of insurance.

well my brother got it for me, he claims that he had to do alot of searching to get it and that it costs alot of money and he said he had it checked out for authenticity and that its supposedly the real deal yet he wont tell me how much he spent so now i’m really suspicious.
It doesn’t really take much to falsify a signature. Or to get a “script” of a movie.

I’ve only dabbled with Signatures ONCE, and it was a pain and I’ll never do it again. I have a signed Michael Jordan Jersey. MJ Only signs (per contract) upper decker merch. It is then authenticated with a LOA, and Holograph sticker (serialized) which is then mached with the LOA and their database. Ebay is FLOODED with MJ signed items and they all look like MJ’s signature and they all have home grown LOA. but if isnt Upperdecker, it isnt real. Unfortnutaley in the film actors realm, they dont have a “Upperdeckeresque” firm to help sale their “signatures”. I hope what you have is authentic, and if you can get it appraised, more power to ya. But having something appraised and selling it for what its worth is two different Journeys. GOOD LUCK!
Certificate of Authenticity means nothing. Unless you have a photo of the celebrity signing the actual item (even then, sometimes they are still “faked”)… or unless you got the celebrity to sign it in person (ie. you were there)… it’s likely worth exactly what your brother paid for it… Which means it’s worth something to you.
If it’s a present and you like it why do you need to know how much it’s worth unless you want to sell it.
