They definitely are not. They publish other series such as GI Joe, Star Trek and Transformers, and have been doing it for years, too.
I’m guessing this was the big anouncement? Wait, that was Sony Home Entertainment. Hmmm. Must be the blu-rays, then.

The 88MPH guy must really be steamed. One of the most hated fan based comic companies in existence and now this announcement ;). Considering he was clearly un-prepared for the huge licenses given to him, it only serves him right :).
But that was one of my first concerns, also. If Sony didn’t do their home work by giving the license to 88mph, what would make IDW any more qualified? Apparently people actually LIKE this company..
If there really is a Sony announcement, the only thing LEFT is either a new series, or CGI GB3 
Something else is the big announcement, although well done on IDW for being able to keep it a secret until preview day.

And I love the fact that they actually seem to LOOK like the actors.

this must be the year of the ghostbuster because they are just giving us everything we wanted. games, movies, media. I hope action figures come out too. Im gonna have to get a couple more jobs to pay for all this shit
I wonder how much ‘convincing’ IDW had to do to Sony after the Sebastian fiasco.
I don’t think as much, IDW has a history of taking tv and movie franchises and making them into hit comics there Buffy and Angel series sells great as well as their Star Trek books all of which take place after there tv shows ended. I am very confident of IDW and haven’t been let down by them yet. 
OH MAN! This is shaping up to be an AWESOME year for us Ghostbusters fans. I cannot wait to hear more about this. I hope this becomes an ongoing comic series. Hopefully they do a lot better the 88MPH did. Don’t get me wrong. I loved those comics. They just weren’t exactly very good with business. Man, this is exciting! October is going to be Ghostbusters month! LOL!

Can’t wait to hear more about this. IDW is an amazing company that definitely knows horror and should do this comic some definite justice. In fact, Ben Templesmith (artist for 30 Days of Night and Dark Days) had done an alternate cover for the Legion “hardcover” that never was.
