Infestation 2 (The confusion)

Alright first off, for all those who don’t know last’s year awesome event Infestation was a huge hit specially with the..surprise surprise…Ghostbusters two parter. Not saying any other books didn’t hold their own or nothing. My question is this. Why isn’t our boys in grey dueling with the zombies and H.P. Lovecraftian deities this time around? I’ve heard the issues sold out very quickly and was one of the more popular titles of the infestation multi-comic-crossovers. Again I would think this zombie out break along with the lovecraft mythos would prove another sure seller for the folks up at IDW cause well it’s more in their line of work. Personally I’d love to see how the guys would take on H.P.'s creations in a few issues. Was the idea of having The Ghostbusters reused rejected for the Infestation 2 plot? If any one has some answers please share

Maybe IDW decided to showcase some of their other properties in Infestation 2 (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Danger Girl & 30 Days of Night).

I agree it does seem a little odd in ways. Erik Burnham wrote the Infestation GB issues, and he’s now on the ongoing series–maybe he just didn’t want to split his time, and IDW didn’t want anyone else writing it.

I guess we’ll just have to go back and watch “Collect Call of Cthulhu” or “Russian About”, or read RGB#8 for Ghostbusters vs. Lovecraft (or at least Lovecraft-esque) action.

I’m pretty sure they were just looking to spread the wealth among the other franchises.

because Ghostbusters has a monthly comic now, the GB comics have a timeline and the comics end/start practically back-to-back.

timeline-wise the story would’nt be able to fit in-between the monthly comics, simply not enough time passes between each comic.

i was sad to see they weren’t in infestation 2, but we have a monthly comic now (I’m exited for the TMNT infestation).

Well, some time passes. There was a month between 4 and 5, for example, and 5-7 are all one night, leaving X time between 7 and 8. I leave some leeway. (:
