Like…I know they’re the same person, but I just can’t wrap my head around the differences. I don’t even think it’s just about the mustache either.
I think he might have dropped a bit of weight as well, he does look much younger in gb2.
If I didn’t try - I wouldn’t have believed the mustache did that much of a difference, but check it out:

As a kid I definitely thought they were different actors and was even like “why did they recast him?!?”
I agree Ernie does look younger in GB2. I told him that when I met him and he just smiled and said “I actually have gotten that before but don’t say it around the other guys”
I never found it that noticeable. On the other hand, seeing Ray with a mustache in Casper was very confusing.

The mustache really makes all the difference.
I thought it made him look more like The Real Ghostbusters Winston. If I remember correctly Ernie Hudson had done another film prior to filming Ghostbusters 2 and hadn’t had the time to regrow the mustache. It might have been Leviathan since it came out the same year as Ghostbusters 2.
I had heard though that the real reason was they wanted him to look more like his Real Ghostbusters counterpart.
I chuckle every time I see the thread’s title come up lol
