Yesterday I was cruising around the boards and noticed that quite a few people have re-vamped their old toy traps, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I went and dug mine out of the basement and about 24 hours later, this is what I’ve got.
The handle had busted off sometime around 1991, so I had to replace it with a dowel rod. I used the mustard technique for the weathering, which for the most part turned out okay. I still need to build a pedal for it, as the original is missing.
NICE!!! Although I’d be hesitant to paint one of these, I absolutely LOVE this.. As the RGB traps are hard to find here in Finland, I made my own from plywood, and inserted four electric sockets inside it. It now acts as an extension cord when I do my other projects. Thanks! I didn’t want to go overboard with it, just keep it really simple. I do plan on adding a couple of LED’s to it in the future, but I think it turned out pretty good with just a little paint and some labels.

Okay for mine I can not find the foot petal and hose . Any tips replacing it ?
I’m planning on doing this after the holidays. Any suggestions on what to use for a holster with one of these?
RGB toy trap has a belt hook that pulls out from the front bottom.
I should know, earlier this evening I was fixing the “realistic” pant job I gave mine when I was 10.
id like to see a pic of that belt hook you speak of, even in use too.
i made my rgb trap holster out of a leather tape measure holder. I painted it black and cut the center and bottom out so the clasp holds the trap in place
