A while ago I received my full protonpack/ neutrona wand/ ghost-trapkits. They have been here a while, and I have looked over alot of post before building, but a 3 weeks ago I finally started building, with the help of one of my friends (Jeronimus)

Here is the pack as It came out of the box. I cant even begin to describe how excited I was to finally get this kit. A childhood dream came true.

and all the parts on the table, after checking if all was there (which ofc was superfluous). The details of the casts and the quality is really amazing.

Day one: we cleared the cycloton holes and the powercell, which was a lot of work, but worth it…the result in the end made me once again really proud…and nervous for what is yet to come since I have zero building experience.

In the meantime I had started drilling holes for mounting the parts when the time had come, but unfortunately that resulted in my first (and hopefully last) accident, splitting the Injectortubes. While drilling the whole, a loud crack followed and there came off one side of the tubes…I think I stayed quiet for about 10 minutes, I couldnt believe this. But then I got it together and glued the part back on. The split was clean so it was easy to glue back together.

A few days later, I got the motherboard from Nick as well…looking good, really nice quality

A few week passed, and I picked up the pack again, started mounting the parts after I had cleaned them. It took some serious time. The glue we had used so far wasnt really holding the parts together. Of to the shop I went to get a hotglue gun, and voila, it worked… :slight_smile:

After I had mounted the HGA, filled some of the minor cracks , I decided to give the entire pack a grey finish. The idea is to both have a first layer of paint and also to be able to add cool scratch effects later on.

Well thats is for the time being. As soon as the building progresses, I will add more pictures. …so I guess to be continued…

Looking good so far. I really like Nick’s parts, especially how he made his shell. Now do I understand correctly that you hot glued parts to the shell? If so you’ll save yourself some heartache if you go and use screws to secure them to the shell. Disregard if I misread that though. :cool:

Looks great but please please PLEASE bolt the parts to the shell, glue alone, especially hot glue, is not strong enough to hold the parts on to a pack.

Looking forward to seeing more.

Hahaha lol…dont worry guys, I am using bolts…Hotglue was used to put the parts where they should be and keep em there so I could drill the holes etc. First off I just measured where the holes should be, but I ended up making mistakes or not taking every thing into considerations. The parts would be on there, looked great up close and then from a distance it was crooked. Hotglue just gives me a little margin of error where I can still adjust (or just cut away the glue) in order to correctly place the parts. Once they are where they should be…its bolts all around.

The one thing not bolted down at the time is the HGA, since I didnt have the materials for it, long enough screw etc. Had to be ordered and should be at the local hardware store this week…

Will of course keep you all posted, and I must say, the more I work with the Nick-a-tron kits, the more impressed I am at how well cast they are…

The pack has been on hold for a while, since I am waiting on some minor parts to arrive. So I worked on the trap, and I have to say for a project I did with no help, I am kinda proud of what I did so far. Granted it needs some finishing touches, stickers , weathering and some screws etc., but you can see the result and I am proud of my very first prop. Have to say that the kit made it really easy, but also provided some challenges since my Jupiter Electronic kit didnt really fit. I had to hollow out alot of the solid parts, but it worked

Will post more once the trap is done, or when I have fully finished the trap

Some great progress since the last post, most parts have been glued and bolted down, and the pack looks great. I am really proud how this is turning out. Next up is the motherboard, which will be done after my break.
