The Mattel Ghostbusters II 4-Pack TRU exclusive is coming back out online & in store!
Is it the exact same set or does slimer now have a hat on? I can’t remember if the slimer in my set does or doesn’t. Last time I was at TRU they were still selling them.
Call me crazy, but I don’t thing either of the 2 have ever come with a hat for slimer, unless both of mine are ■■■■■■ up.

I wudnt waste my money on a set of these JUST to get slimer a santa hat. The plastic for these figures were all wonky n had terrible paint jobs. My Ray’s face paint is all effed up, looks like he’s cross-eyed. =\

yeah they used a darker color for the skin tones, they look like jsersey shore cast members. luckily I had extra heads and swapped em out, though the hands are still the darker plastic but its not noticeable
Note that as far as I can tell, Slimer doesn’t have the hat in the package shots, just in the posed display. Which could mean either…
A. Slimer doesn’t have a hat, and the posed display is an error
or
B. Slimer does have the hat, and the package shots are just recycled from the “hats on” version from two years ago.
Either way, I definitely recommend the set to anyone who missed it the first time. If you have it already, yeah, even if Slimer has the hat, it’s probably not worth spending another $60 on.
Now if they’d given us Ray and Winston in dark flight suits and Slime Blowers like the GB2 poster, on the other hand…
I dont think the set ever came with a hat for slimer, mine didnt. false advertising!
We can just say that when firing their guns, the intense flash from the proton stream gave their hands instant tans!

You guys noticed the hat but not the tongue?? I have both sets also, hats on & hats off. Neither set came with the tongue hanging out Slimer. But the boxed pictures show the other Slimer sans hat.
This is true. I’ve only seen the gaping jaw Slimer in the box sets.

Glad to to hear that Mattel is reissueing this set. In the near future I am going to be working on some customs and I may need another set of Ghostbusters in uniform for parts.
It’s most likely old promo shots, since the set was originally supposed to come with the tongue out Slimer. The SDCC Egon Slimer was slipped in instead before it hit shelves.
As for this set, it’s a cool set to have, but, not sure I’ll be picking it up again. I’m actually surprised they’re rereleasing it, since the first set ended up on clearance, since it wasn’t selling. I picked mine up for about $30, as I recall. Maybe even a little less.
Did they take it down already??
@corwin 1720 if your asking about on the Toys R Us website, yes they did. Even typing in Ghostbusters only yields a few items which most fans already have like the Minimates, the Video Game and the Retro action RGB action figures.
they will take it down and in a week there will be 5 in each store, i wouldnt worry about it corwin1720
Good deal. I missd the first run so it will be nice to get a set.
these are the only figures i dont have and after seeing them back the other day i went to tru to get a pack and couldnt bring my self to buy them there almost bootleg looking so i got a battle damaged robocop instead and saved about $42.
So you go there to buy it and leave with robocop? Still a sweet set.
