I bought my son a set of these for Christmas and Ray had two left hands. Was considering taking it back but then decided that maybe this anomaly will make this figure a better collectors item some day.
Yeah, I didn’t want him playing with a jacked up toy so I gave him my set and took his. Also talked to a couple of collectors who said these things can go either way. Some rare anomalies actually make the toy more valuable and sometimes they actually make it less valuable.Tthe consensus seems to be that only time will tell. So maybe I’ll play it safe and keep this set and go buy another set.
Ive been a toy collector for a long time. I remember the flipping out over Star Wars POTF2 packaging variants (.00! .01 .02! card serials numbers! Long saber, short saber, short saber in a long saber tray!). The fad for production errors has really gone away. Intentional variants can sometime be more or less desirable, but errors are just errors. Unless you find that one guy whose really excited about them, you wont be able to get any money for it. Email mattel if you cant get an exchange at TRU, they will probably help out.
i sold a set of egb figures a few years back. they all were on the wrong cards and kylie had the slime blower looking pack. the winning bid was $300.00. a few months later i got a hold of another one and it sold for $5.00. it all depends on what a collector wants to pay for an item.
I looked at my local TRU for the GB2 set this weekend but they didnt have them. looks like i’ll be going through tru.com for them since I have to drive 1.5 hours just to check TRU
Customers returned 2 diferent sets to my store recently due to production errors . One had a club footed Peter, seriously his left foot wasn’t all there, and the other set had a “faceless” Winston, no paint app at all.
