Seems like no one is talking about this yet, so I’ll just get the ball rolling.
It seems like shipping prices will be an issue with this one; we got lucky that us guys across the pond might get a shot at getting it, but I wonder if S&H won’t be more than the staypuft itself. MH.
At first I was kind of psyched for such a tall Stay Puft to be made, also liked the happy face sculpt he has. But little by little I’m kind of doubting if I’m going to get one because instead of being like the recently released solid plastic S.P. bank this one is going to be a squishy foam. Plastic kept out of the sun will not photodegrade and will last a lifetime. This squishy stuff… I have no clue what the longevity of it is. I keep thinking what’s going to happen in 10 years, will it be eroding away, will it stain and look off-white or just dirty. Might not be the case but it’s just a nagging doubt I have about him.
If I had unlimited funds for toys I’d be in for one, but I’m saving up what I can for the trap and eventually a couple 6" figures next year. The rest of my toy money goes to my kid’s Transformers habit.
Definately will be purchasing one of these. I agree with most about the foam used. But I will just keep it boxed and unopened and stored away with the rest of my GB toys and just view other’s pics of it unpackaged.
First let me start off by saying thank you to Aj and Gb fans.com. It a cool item to have won.
Now with that being said. I 'm glad I won him because I don’t think I would have bought him. I got Stay puft Friday and all I can say is that he is huge(that what she said). I don’t think that we as fans are prepared for how Big Stay puft is. I got pics I took saturday below to give you a clue.
As you can see the line in his belly is from the display pieces that were laying on top of him. So if you do take Puft out of the packaging. Be aware of how you put him back.
Side Note. I have a sneaky feeling that a variant Stay Puft will surface and with the mean face.
i agree, though…i can see them rereleasing him down the line in some sort of variation…for all the money spent on the tooling and such,i can’t see Mattel, being as cheap/thrift as they are, making only a one time use out of this…i’d imagine it’'ll have the angry head, and a simpler packaging without any of the display pieces or diorama…
me too. I hope it was worth, I paid a whopping 141,35 usd, a little less as I pay in €uro… via usp, and also did you notice it says it will ship on the 8th? Would have been nice to have known that before!!
can someone scan the smaller pieces of the city diorama and take high-res (well lit, no flash) photos of the rest of it? I’d like to construct my own city background using these pieces, print them out on a laser jet printer and glue them to foamcore to make my own version of the city diorama
I’d also be willing to buy someones city diorama if they dont want it, I’d pay $10 + shipping.
