Right on the Matty Collector’s page with the video Scott say’s Prop Replica. I still don’t see how the man can keep from falling over with the size of his Pinocchio nose he has to have. With parts falling off, bad paint applications, functions that were not needed compared to functions that were need to be added, and the final nail in the coffin triple to quadruple prices just to fill there pockets. Matty is a horrible toy company and I really do hope the company falls off. Kenner toys was a way better and they couldn’t make it so why does Mattel get to last?
I have pulled the Ecto Goggles down from the shop.
With them showing Almost Gone I don’t want to risk having orders coming in and being unable to fufill them.
I did order a few extras in case there are damaged / broken ones… and for the potential to have a few on hand for later.
Was anyone in Canada able to order them from Matty for export?
My understanding was that the pvs frame design is still a controlled military asset and requires state department docs to export. I’ve been wrong before lol
Well, I’m from Germany and I was able to buy one. Obviously, there is no export restriction for the goggles, perhaps due to the fact that they don’t function as real night vision goggles, or because they are made of other materials…
´
This is just my logic but I think the goggles are a sony licensed product, and sony must have licensed the use of that frame with the original military makers, so matty may have not worried at all about that. Quite the opposite when buying a real night vision goggles frame, I would think. Just me thinking.
AJ, I already placed my order and really appreciate you doing this. Will you be able to send tracking info to the people who ordered once you ship the orders out to the people on this site?
Cannot believe the mark-up on this thing. You guys be the judge when you get it, but $110 for what looks like $12 worth of product just hurts.
Of course.
So, I notice my shipping confirmation e-mail describes the product as a “prop replica”. Haven’t I been hearing that Matty Collector guy recently saying that these are not meant to be “prop replicas” but merely cosplay accessories? I think all the MC employees have to get together and get their stories straight.
Is it that obvious to anyone else matty is willing to say anything to make a buck?
It’s a prop! It’s not a prop! Make the preorder! Don’t make the preorder! Sold out! It’s an essential! Gone for good! We’re not ever dumping stock at big lots again! It’s not final! It’s totally final!
Come on.
While I sit here impatiently waiting for my order to come through to me, (NOT YOUR FAULT BY THE WAY! I just feel like a kid on christmas eve.) I have to say I am very grateful you did this AJ. Granted by the time I over drafted my bank account I paid well over to place my order with ya. But hey, the Hell if I am going to let the ghost trap event happen to me again. I’d rather support you and know I am getting a set! Thanks again!
Speaking of overdrafts… here is a fun story.
When ordering the Ecto Goggles during the early access, I placed a few orders successfully. Then on one of the last orders, I placed it and then looked at the total for the order. MattyCollector charged me $1100 PER pair of Ecto Goggles (like some had pointed out earlier in the thread). I had an $11000+ hold on my credit card. I had to call into the India call center and the guy there really didn’t seem to care I was charged that amount. He told me it would be fixed, but I had to wait 2-3 days for anything to be done.
The temporary authorization basically wiped out that credit card’s available credit down to zero, and I had to use my back up and my back up’s back up and my back up back up’s back up card.
I got an email last night letting me know they were refunding $9900 back to my credit card. Thanks MattyCollector! All you had to do was delete the temporary authorization. Not charge me $11000, and then refund me the difference.
And at 19% they didn’t even bargain with you! I would have been so ■■■■■■, mistake or not.
I’m sorry I couldn’t resist that first line lol!
The BTTF Hoverboard sat with the almost gone title for a good solid month if not more. Yes it is a ploy, I want to get a pair but I am buying a house this month and its crazy expensive…oh well a house beats matty “ecto goggles” besides of all of the props the ecto goggles seem the easiest to make from scratch.
if they are still available by the end of the week I think I’ll get a pair, they are a fun toy for a kid, and I think my nephew would like playing with them.
Sold out…for now at least.
wow, I have s#itty luck. 2 days before I get paid, they are sold out… well, according to the website anyway. f#ckin’ Matty… I put an ad in the wanted section offering $150 so I could buy a pair for my nephew for christmas. but apparently that is an insult because it already got a negative vote. guess I need to pay a 100% markup on ebay.
They’re not sold out. They come boppin’ along in a $40 sale at some point down the road.
They’ll be in a mystery box with Ghost Traps for 50 bucks.
But Scott said this wouldn’t happen anymore. Surely he wouldn’t lie…
