The Ecto Goggles from MattyCollector may be going on sale on Wednesday. We say “may” because they may not. With this years subscriptions offering special early access to the Ecto Goggles, it is entirely possible that they will sell out before going on sale to the general public. Ghostbusters Fans has early access to the sale, and will order extras to ensure fans are able to get them.
We’ve put up this special order page in the GBFans Shop for the Goggles. Place your order with us in the next 48 hours, and we’ll do our best to ensure you receive a pair. This is also perfect for international fans who will be unable to order the Goggles due to shipping restrictions. (Note: There is a $20 premium over MattyCollector’s price. This is to cover the shipping from MattyCollector to us).
*Slimer™ can run but he cannot hide… not when your spectral stalking supplies include our Ecto Goggles! Inspired by the iconic Ghostbusters™ film series and developed with Sony Entertainment, the “one size fits most humans” design allows you to see four stop-motion animations created from Mattel’s 6” scale Slimer™ figure.
If you’ve got our Ghostbusters™ PKE Meter, just plug the included “echo locator” piece into the meter and you’ll unlock additional animations of the Library Ghost and a proton stream in the goggles. Crank up the sound on the meter and the faster those ghosts move in the goggles! (Slimer™ appears with or without the PKE Meter.) Also includes stickers so you can customize the Ecto Goggles or leave them plain, as originally designed by Egon.*
I am having to penny pinch to get these. If I place an order with GB Fans, and come Thursday morning the goggles are still at Matty, and the final order price ends up being cheaper thru Matty, will I be able to cancel my GB fans order?
We are special ordering the Goggles for you in advance of the public sale date. There is no cancelation and no refunds. (Unless of course we are unable to fulfill your order, IE: They sell out during the Early Access period).
The PKE Meter and Ghost Trap said the same for “subject to Early Access sellout”. I highly doubt the Ecto Goggles(more expensive then the PKE and getting more smack talk then the PKE) is going to get sold out in early access. If any prop does I expected the Ghost Trap(which I remember purchasing late the day it was released to general public) and the new Proton Wand(coming soon). I personally can wait til Thursday to save same some money, but I might have to do this for the Proton Wand if you do this again AJ. This is just my thoughts on the matter.
Just asking, will the shipping and handling costs be the same here as they will be if I buy on Matty? I´m asking cause I´m buying a couple of those goggles (at least).
When I first placed the item in my cart I was able to add 2. I had to make an adjustment to my order stuff when I was at Google checkout and had to re-add the goggles. However I am only able to place 1 in my cart. Is there already a limit on how many you can get?
Matty just posted the product page for the Goggles. Interesting note- the maximum order quantity is 10.
This is a huge reduction from the PKE Meter and Trap, both of which had maximum order quantity of 99.
How many of these are they really making? We shouldn’t have to worry about this kind of thing upon release date. Maybe after a few days, but not before public sale.
I am not sure there will be shipping restrictions for the goggles, at least the goggles page in the matty website doesn’t have any mention of it, like it did/does for the PKE. It might apply to the wand only.
The customs duty fee is 25% of the value of the item (including shipping). So if you buy it on ebay later for more, the customs duty will be higher as well. The only way you could possibly save on it is if someone sold it on ebay for significantly less.
It’s why I figured it was worth taking a chance on this - I can’t imagine it being any cheaper later. Even if the goggles get poor reviews and many people are unhappy with them, I can’t see them going ebay for less than their original price.
Well I just preordered mine with GBFans. Thanks AJ. Personally I’d much rather drop my funds into the GBFans site and community then Matty. I feel “groovy” about that.
