Much kudos to you on scratch building the bumper!!! A rare thing to see, very commendable…that thing sucks to build!! lol
That sounds like a good start to me. Like I said, a razor and a straight edge are nice too because .125" styrene can be scored and snapped as well, so you don’t have to use a jigsaw for everything.
I would also advise that you use super glue for the joints, it actually works amazing as long as you sand before hand. Then use like liquid nails or something as well after the superglue dries, just to be safe.
Thanks! It was a pain but it turned out okay. The one major thing that bugs me about my pack is i had to hand sand everything (aka the bondo) and you can still see it on spots on the bumper and the pack. After the gun is done, I might pull all the hardware off and give the whole thing another good sanding and re-spray to clean it up a little more.
Super-Glue, eh? I was just going to use the LiquidNails, but I’ll take your word for it and go w/super-glue. Thanks for the advice.
Yeah, I did not believe it at first either. I got the tip from Nick-a-tron since he also built both of his packs out of styrene. Just make sure you rough up the spot first before applying the glue.

It comes in black or white, I went white so I could see what I was writing on it. I got 2 sheets of .125" x 48" x 48", which came to like $67 + S/H. That will be more then enough.

Oh goodie, an update!
I’ve been working on the wand and it’s almost done. It’s a ThrowingChicken gun body and parts kit with aluminum knobs, a real Clippard and some sexy vinyl stickers. I have the hyperdyne light kit partially installed, I need some more switches and then that should be done. I’m also going to be getting the clear tube and gun trigger from MMM eventually when I get around to it.
Anyway, here’s some pictures!

Here it is, sitting pretty in my room. I installed the Hyperdyne Light kit for the gun. Once I get some more funds, I will get a light kit for the pack and a battery. I also just ordered the clear tip and gun trigger from MMM, so the gun should be complete once that stuff comes in.
Pretty much all done except for a GB1 ribbon cable, lights and maybe sound (someday).
Looks great so far. Can’t wait to see the finished gun.
Okay, the gun is now finished with the lights, switches and clear barrel installed.
And the “finished” Pack.
I say “finished” because these things are never really finished until you dismantle them or sell them. I am planning on getting a GB1 ribbon cable for it and might clean up some of the spots that need to be sanded down better and re-painted for a cleaner look. I wouldn’t mind doing a fiberglass inner shell to sturdy it up some more and the pack still needs lights. But for all intents and purposes, she’s done.

Honestly though, thanks for the positive feed back. I was just showing this bad boy off at a GB1 screening in Philadelphia, PA and I got a lot of good reception. Sadly I was too busy posing for pics to take my own BUT there was a reporter there for some NJ paper so maybe I’ll be in that.
And yes, the gun kit turned out really well. It holds together really well and looks amazing too. I have worked with both Irricanian and ThrowingChicken’s kits and both are amazing and worth every cent you pony up for them.
We did pretty much the same thing arounbd Halloween last year.. we were so busy posing for pictures and answering questions, that we totally forgot to take many pics at all! LOL!
We WILL take pics though of the game release party, and the following day, when we haunt the local stores making sure they have plenty on fan for training new recruits..
