Ok so they have these machined regulator knobs on ebay. I have look at many pack pics and I know they get painted over, but what do you guys think is better before I take my route. Has anyone picked an of these up? Here is the link.
Well commonly referred to as “Side Discs”, the ones you are looking at there are not what I would consider accurate. Beyond that it is all up to your preference and budget. I have wands they have resin knobs and wands that have machined knobs. Both turn out with great results when enough effort is put into them. There is another member here who also machines side knobs and has a post in the sale section somwhere.
If this is your first and only pack you will ever do and want to throw in the extra money I say go machined. Either route you go the only perons that ever knows the difference is you. Just food for thought.
yep, those are what i used on my wand and i can’t fault them, if you paint them right, you’d never know they were resin, and they have the correct grip on them unlike those ebay ones
correct grip is a misnomer. actually called “knurling”, the side discs in GB1 were NOT knurled but the ones cast for GB2 WERE knurled. So the knurling is accurate to GB2.
IMO the only thing worth buying from Evolutions is their gun knob set. The “Regulators” (not their proper name BTW, they are called side discs, stupid arseholes make their own name) and “Ciclotron Details” . . WTF? (shockmount aka ion knob) are horribly inaccurate.
the side discs that MMM sells are cast from the metal ones that Umori Bawar sells, find his thread in the for sale section, probably on the 2nd or 3rd page by now as it’s been a while since his thread was bumped.
