Mini pack build

Yeah, you’ll see final uniform, his price is candy for us kids too big to trick or treat haha

There is so much win in this thread! This is awesome. Love the mods you did with the LED finger lights (might steal that idea myself!). The proton pack and trap builds are epic. Can’t wait to see how it all looks on your boy!

Thanks man so much help from community and Jay I did steal most of your goggle ideas haha

Some updates from my side. The ion arm end cap was a pain and I’m not totally happy with it. When I drilled a hole for the bottom rod it went great, then the top rod and I must have hit a pad section of the plywood and it came through the side. I made it work but it still annoys me. Will need to paint it black still. Everything is super glued in to hold it together.

I build this section of the shell last night. And I realized the gun mount is going to make it difficult to bolt it on to Eric’s L brackets. I’ll have to carve out some of the foam board I’m thinking.

That last picture really gave me the chills. That looks freaking amazeballs!

Awesome

Thanks guys. Finished the details.

I take it back.

NOW you’re getting somewhere!

Ok so having trouble uploading pictures ATM will update tomorrow

Goggles done, started RGB style pedal for trap, started to wire LED’s for wand,

Started gizmo( with LED’s of course haha)

What’s this? Could it be? Yes it is!

The spacer between the 2 halves wasn’t that difficult. I put paper between the mobo and the 2 halves, lined it up and traced out a template. The I stacked 5 layers of foam board and cut them out.

Then just cut the top 3 layers to their shape and glue it all together.

It’s not perfect, the bottom of the shell overhangs about 1/8" over the mobo because of the plating. What I should have done was draw out the mobo on a big piece of paper, then build all the parts using the drawing as a guide, THEN trace out the shell onto the wood for the mobo so that any places that weren’t perfect would fit. Ah well, not too bad for my first scratch built shell.

Micah has the photos, but we did take the youth od green suit and after Colour stripping and half a bottle of bleach, the suit is lighter. Doesn’t look so military now. I have sewn all the patches and leg hose connector on.

Check list of things to do:

Build a bumper.

A lawyer of paper mâché on the shell.

Build a thrower.

Dry fit all the parts.

Paint shell and parts.

Flashing lights.

Final assembly.

And unfortunately we are both away until Monday. It’s going to be close!

You know it’s done right when the scaled version optically confuses you into thinking it’s a 1:1. Once again, great job you guys.

Class.

absolutely amazing! that thing is a beauty!!

Paper mache Lawyers are hard to come by!

Awesome work Jay!!
