Yes, as we all know, the childrens’ “real” flight suits come in green and black, and redyeing that cotton/poly blend is quite impossible. Still, after experiencing the Rubies kids suit first-hand, I knew I had to try harder… so, after three packs of various brand fabric color removers and about a US gallon of bleach, the suit is arguably more “brownish/tannish” than green, I’m kinda happy with the finished results. Below, some progress pics:

It took some chemical experimenting and inhaling fumes that should not be inhaled and a lot of frustration. I’m attending a con here in Sweden this coming weekend, and my 6-year-old is anxious to make his first costumed appearance, so I really wanted him to wear something else than the chicken-yellow Rubies. He was quite happy with the results…
Hey Finnbuster. I think these turned out great! Nice job! Would you mind telling me the brand of your youth flightsuit and where you bought it from? I’m trying to get 2 of them for my boys for Halloween and since yours turned out so well I thought it’d be a good idea to just get the same suits you did.
Thanks! Unfortunately I have no clue re: the brand of the flighsuit. I searched eBay for those kids suits that have the “real” detailing and went from there.
Time flies… my boy’s eight now, so suit’s too small… will probably offer it for sale here soon, should anyone have a six-year-old in need of one
Thanks for the reply. My boys are 3 and 7. I wonder if it would fit my 7 year old? He just turned 7. Are you serious about selling it? I’m trying to get a head start on Halloween this year(this would be my first time, I tend to procrastinate). How much would you sell it for?
