Got my confirmation email around 6am today. 
Now we get to play UK customs charge roulette.
Funko’s VP of Licensing, Jason Bischoff said this at Comic Con, “I’m a big Real Ghostbusters fan. There’s a whole case full of Real Ghostbusters this year. Villain ghosts that have never been done before. And, if the trend continues, and people seem to be supporting in the same way that they have, maybe that case will be twice as big next year. So I’m really excited about that.”
Welp… looks like I’m robbing a bank or 3.
It really depends what they put out. if its just ghosts im curious but not THAT excited. If its a scale to figures Ecto-1 or diorama’s of the firehouse…hell yes!
I can’t see then doing standard episode ghosts solo.
Not after tying the big hitters to time limited two packs.
I expect they’ll continue the ghost and human character pattern or do the citizen ghosts next.
I can maybe see them releasing single packs of Samhain, Boogieman, Ghash and Sandman as a second chance for those who missed out on the original run… But I think if that did happen, it’d be a lot further down the line in the run.
I’d be curious to know if Bischoff’s wording could extend to Extreme Ghostbusters.
I’m really hoping they do continue to Extreme. There’s only a handful of RGB characters after the core 5 I would call “must haves”, ya know?
It’s possible. Looking at the DC animated line, they started with and are still doing figures for characters from Batman: The Animated Series but they did skip around and did a Batman Beyond figure and just this past SDCC previewed a Superman from Superman: The Animated Series. So there is some precedent of Mondo going out of order.
I mean, we DO have the Neapolitan ice cream option that is Ghostbuster Janine (white uniform from the Sandman episode, brown from the “Janine Melnitz - Ghostbuster”, and the pink uniform from Robobuster).
And technically, there are variants as her color collars change (i.e. in Janine’s Genie, it’s a brighter blue than Peter’s standard from what I remember and later into the series the pink uniform’s collar changes color to purple I think). Her flightsuits change as much as her character designs.
Following on from Kingpins post and speculating on future waves.
So first all I think ghost-wise we’ll definitely be leaning more season one. I think Ghosts’R’Us is a good shout but I don’t particularly like the episodes or those ghosts so I’m going to focus on my personal preferences:
Stay Puft & Intro Ghosts
I think a Stay Puft in the scale of the other ghosts would be fine size wise and then could package in another 2-3 intro ghosts to display with the one included in the Egon set. This seems like a no brainer, we haven’t had a good Stay Puft in years, and there are some great swapouts they could do including the “trapped” version.
Ecto-1 & Possessed Ecto Swapout
A cartoon accurate Ecto with swapout wheels and front bumper for the “Killawatt” possessed version as the exclusive would be a no-brainer.
Mrs. Rogers, Precious & Watt
Now we know Janine will come with her desk, (hopefully at a slightly cheaper price than the usual ghost pack-in to give collectors a breather?) I expect Watt would be the main figure with Mrs Rogers and Precious as the exclusive (although not sure he’d be popular enough to be a figure on their own).
Alternative: Watt and Precious included with a Citizen Ghost Ray
Troll Leader & Runaway troll
A very cool looking season one character. I’m not sure what the character pack in would be in this case…
Potentially included with a Citizen Ghost Egon
Umpire & Winston / Umpire & Baseball Ghosts
The Umpire is an iconic figure from the series and packing him with a baseball Winston makes sense, although there are plenty of other cool Good v Evil ghosts that episode so if they skipped Winston and included 2-4 additional ghost figures I would be quite happy.
Containment Suit Egon & Adventures in Slime & Space Slimer
From Xmas Marks the Spot - I wouldn’t be interested in the ghosts from that episode.
Instead I’d pair him with the giant evil blue Slimer, that would make a great ghost figure.
On the Rampage Egon
Another standalone release.
Janine in Uniform Again a standalone release but not sure what ghost I’d pair her with. Neither Proteus or the Genie would make good figures imo. There’s Victor the Friendly Ghost - his friendly form is Casper, his evil form is Venom… so maybe not, and I don’t think he’s popular either.
One of the most memorable villains from the show - not sure what human figure you’d include with him.
And I may as well repeat my very personal request from my favourite episode that has no chance of making the cut, but at least +1 sale…
The Deadly Three & imps
I was really hoping the Deadly Trio would’ve been packed in with Janine, but c’est la vie.
Is it wrong that I kinda want a Robobuster? I’m not a fan of that design for Janine, but I feel like he’d be a pack-in instead of a stand alone figure and she’d be the perfect partner for that.
Mondo could literally make “accessory” packs (one or two smaller ghosts with some odd, one off devices Egon or Ray used in an episode) for the next decade and we wouldn’t have everything everyone wants.
Following on from Chicken, He Clucked…
Last Train to Oblivion - Casey Jones would be the natural ghost for this pack. A variant of Peter would be a natural choice for the “main” figure, either civilian Peter, or spectral Ghostbuster Peter.
Masquerade - The villain ghost would naturally have to be General Holloway, given he is one of the most creepy-looking ghosts in the show’s entire run. Kenny would make the most sense as the human figure, though I imagine he’d have a rather limited appeal compared to some of the other humans. He’d be popular with deep-cut RGB fans and completionists, I’m sure.
Janine’s Day Off - As my esteemed colleague noted, the trio of ghosts would be a clear choice as the Giant Imp would need to be scaled down to fit in the packaging (unless Mondo started doing build-a-figure accessories for characters like the Giant Imp, Stay Puft, Murray the Mantis etc.) The human figure for this episode would either be Louise (who admittedly would be low appeal to many collectors) or Janine in her yellow/black polka-dot sweater dress.
The Ghostbusters in Paris - There are soo many ghosts that could be considered in this episode, “The unusual personne”, the decayed man in period costume, the possessed gargoyles and Egyptian statues from the Louvre, but how would you narrow it down? I suppose in a crunch, one or two of the most iconic-looking of the purple Eiffle Tower ghosts?
The likely candidate for the human figure (unless it happened to be a Ghostbuster variant) would be Monsieur Lucien.
The Devil in the Deep - Necksa would be the stand-out character for the big bad figure, though his size might be a disqualifying aspect. You could have one of the Undines as the small ghost accessory, with the human figure being Alice Johnson.
I know some people would prefer to have bikini Janine, but I’d personally rather Mondo not indulge in such fan-service.
Ghost Fight at the O.K. Corral - The ghostly Earps and Doc Holliday would be a must-have, but they run afoul of other ghost sets consisting of more than two characters, you’d likely need to spread them out across a few different releases. The most likely human figure choices would be Boris Mealey or Dewey Lamort.
Ghostbuster of the Year - As we’re already getting Charles Foster Hearse with Winston, the ghosts worth considering would be the bus terminal ghost, and maybe the Hearse-possessed Sphinx (I’d love to have a figure of the possessed pool ■■■■■/cues, but it’d likely be too delicate to be practical). The human figure would be Barbara Mentee.
Deadcon I - There’s a lot of distinctive ghost designs in this episode… However, some of them are now rather problematic given they’re cultural stereotypes. A safe choice would be the English/undertaker ghost who spearheaded Deadcon 1. The human figure would be J. Portman Plump. This set could be an ideal option for including Stay Puft (or if Mondo consider doing a big build-a-figure, they could spread Stay Puft’s parts across a number of figure sets inspired by episodes he appeared prominently in. Alternately, the void ghost that Peter encounters would be a solid choice from me.
The Cabinet of Calamari - The ghost of Harry Houdini would be the clear choice for this episode, with The Great Calamari being the human figure for the set.
A Ghost Grows in Brooklyn - This one is a little tricky, as the big bad ghost would just be giant geranium vines. The ghost accessory would be the greenhouse ghost that infected the geranium, and the human figure would be Professor Phil Dendron.
The Revenge of Murray the Mantis - Murray the Mantis would obviously be the big-bad figure of this set, though the size would be an issue. The human figures could be Officer Frump (if he wasn’t included in another set), or Anne Lawson.
Rollerghoster - Another tricky one as you;d be looking either at multiple ghosts, or having a ghost of the posessed Roller Ghoster… And I don’t even want to think about the sort of engineering that would have to go into making a figure of the latter. The human figure would likely be Ray Couger.
I Am the City - Marduk would be the non-exclusive figure, and a scaled-down Tiamat the exclusive big-bad figure.
Moaning Stones - The Undying One is the clear stand-out for the big-bad figure. As for the human figure? Dahlia would probably be my personal choice… Shimabuku is again a bit too problematic due to the cultural stereotyping.
The Long, Long, Long, Etc. Goodbye - Blackie would be the big bad ghost of this set, with Phillip Spade and maybe human Blackie being the other figures in the set.
Buster the Ghost - Buster is the obvious choice, but not sure how many people would want a figure based on him (he might work better as an accessory ghost).
The Devil to Pay - Dyb Devlin is the obvious choice, and Marsha would be a nice additional figure with Dyb (and he’d naturally be included with his human and minor demon heads).
Slimer, Is That You? - The Master of Shadows would be the big-bad for this set, while maybe a Egon-in-Slimer’s-body would be the non-exclusive figure.
Egon’s Ghost - Either Arzun or Thole would be the big-bad figure of this set, and one of the other ghostly figures could be the RGB version of the Terror Dog.
Captain Steel Saves the Day - While Captain Steel and Doctor Destructo are the obvious choices, I’m not sure these characters themselves are popular enough to warrant their own figures.
Victor the Happy Ghost - Again, as my esteemed colleague noted, “cute” and “evil” Victor would be the clear choices for this set.
Egon’s Dragon - The most likely candidate would of course be Zedekiah Spengler’s dragon, but between size and popularity, I think this character as a figure would be extremely niche, along with the only real choice for the human figure, Zedekiah himself.
Dairy Farm of the Living Dead - There’s certainly a lot of options for the zombie Petersons (with “Father” being the most likely choice), and the zombie rooster being the small ghost accessory. Sam Stantz would be the obvious choice for the human figure.
The Hole in the Wall Gang - This would be a tricky one to narrow down to any one ghost due to the wide variety of them featured in the episode, and also as most of them were pretty small. The ghost in the bed might’ve been one of the stand-out choices, but it would likely require the bed to complete the look. Conversely the big ghost from the end would need to be scaled down in order to fit the constraints of the packaging. The likely human choices would either be the Limburgers, or a white-haired Ray, but I suspect none of these characters would have much demand from the community.

Baby Spookums - I begrudingly acknowledge that Baby Spookums would be the most likely candidate, though I doubt many people would be interested in this ghost. Seeing as we’re going for unpopular figure choices for this set, the human figure would be Janine’s Q5-redesign for the 1988 season.
It’s a Jungle Out There - Ral would be the clear choice for the big bad ghost figure, with anthropomorphised Sydney as the dog being the non-exclusive figure. I’m not sure who the human figure would be, unless it was Q5 Janine pretending to be Egon?
The Boogeyman Is Back - With the Boogieman already scheduled with Egon’s release, the remaining ghostly options would be some of his minions at the corrupted Big Apple Amusement Park. As for the human figures, loathe as I am to suggest them, there’d probably be one of the Junior Ghostbusters.
Once Upon a Slime - Due to size and creepiness, Rumpelstiltskin would probably make the most sense. As for the human character? Another Junior Ghostbuster?
The Two Faces of Slimer - “Big Green” would naturally be the choice for the big bad figure, while a variant of Slimer would be the likely choice for the non-exclusive ghost, something that’s distinctly different to the Slimer accessories coming with Peter and Janine. As for the human figure, a slimed variant of Peter?
Sticky Business - Another opportunity for parts of a “build a figure Stay Puft”, with the Phantom being the non-exclusive ghost figure in this set. Marty Tillis would likely be the human figure.
Halloween II½ - With Samhain already scheduled with Peter’s release, the next likely options would be Samhain’s goblins from this and his original appearance. As for a human figure, the final member of the Junior Ghostbusters?
Loathe Thy Neighbor - The paranatural monster from the end of the episode would be the most likely choice for the big bad figure, though again would need reducing in scale to fit the packaging. As for the human figure, while my first instict was to go with Lydia Micawb, maybe having Thaddeus and his dog Patchwork would make the greater sense, as they caused the problem in the first place.
The Grundel - The Grundle would naturally be the big-bad ghost figure, and Lee Meredith or Alec Meredith being the human figure (including alternate head for Grundelized Alex). A worthy contender for inclusion would be the Jabberwock from the start of the episode.
Big Trouble With Little Slimer - The big purple ghost occupying the cyclotron, or the two-headed ghost from the episode’s opening would make the most sense for the set’s exclusive figure. The small ghost accessory could be Slimer in his containment box, while the human figure would naturally have to be Walter Peck.
The Copycat - This would be a tricky one, due to the copycat not having a distinct appearance of its own… Would we opt for Copycat-Janine? Copycat-Peter? Copycat-Egon? Copycat-footstool? I’d almost be tempted to go with the Copycat-Ghostbusters logo. This set is another opportunity of feature the RGB Terror Dog. Finally, as for the human… While Mrs. Campbell is the likely choice through the absence of any other human characters in the episode, I don’t think she’d be a in-demand character to have as a figure. I’d be tempted to say Peck’s henchman Calahan would be more worthwhile of an inclusion.
Transylvanian Homesick Blues - This is an opportunity to flip the set concept on its head, Count Vostak would be the non-exclusive figure, the pack-in ghost would be one of the holographic vampires, and Dr. Nicholas Van Helden would be the timed exclusive.
Camping It Up - I’m not sure how much demand there would be for Bigfoot, but he’d be the obvious candidate for this set. The human figure could either be a camp gear variant of one of the Ghostbusters, or another human character from a different story, the same with the ghost accessory.

The Joke’s on Ray - The Imps are obviously the choice here, and because of their aging, the young imp/imps could be the standard ghost accessory, whilst the more sinisted grown up versions could be the timed exclusive… The drawback is that you’d either need to split the Imps across two figure releases, or try get fans to buy two packs of the figures. As for a human, as there were no distinct human characters in this episode, the human figure could be filled by a substantial human character from another episode.
Flip Side - The Peoplebusters, and Peoplebuster Janine are the obvious choices. Like the Imps, the human figure could be filled by a previously-unreleased signficant human figure.
Poultrygeist - This set could be done either way, with either the Werechicken and Werechicken-Egon as either the exclusive or non-exclusive figure. The small pack-in ghost would naturally be the baby Werechicken, along with its egg.
Standing Room Only - Mee-Krah is the obvious choice for the exclusive figure, but he’d have to be massively scaled down, unless he could be done as a build-a-figure. He’d also be an interesting challenge, due to the need for his “shell” to be rendered in transparent plastic. The standard ghost accessory could be one of the smaller ghosts unique to this episode. The human figure could be filled by a previously-unreleased signficant human figure.
Robo-Buster - The maelstrom of ghosts is probably the most likely choice for the timed exclusive figure, but like many others on this list, would have to be scaled down in size. The small ghost accessory could be the ghost stolen by Paul Smart. the non-ghost figure could either be Paul Smart, or Robo-Buster.
Short Stuff - Each of the ghostly bounty hunters (Dark, Animax and Mist Crawler) is discrinct and thus would work well as a figure, as does the Ghostmaster himself, though would need to be split across multiple sets. A theoretical set could consist of Dark’s human disguise, Animax as the ghost accessory, and Dark’s true form as the timed exclusive.
Follow That Hearse - As possessed Ecto-1 would be immediately disqualified due to size and cost, the choice would be for the ghost to be the mutated version of the Earth Spirit, with the non-mutated version possibly being the timed exclusive figure. The human figure could be one of the junkyard workers, or a previously-unreleased signficant human figure.
The Brooklyn Triangle - The timed exclusive figure for this set would be The Collector, with his half of the key. The ghost accessory would be one of his minions, and Big “Ed” Zeddemore would be the human figure.

Here’s where we start to ask “do I want this as a figure?” on a regular basis…
Transcendental Tourists - The spectral family are the most likely choice for turning into figures, as they’re the only ghosts beyond Slimer in the episode… But I believe they’d rank pretty low on most fans’ lists. The only humans to appear (beyond the carved presidents of Mount Rushmore) are Peter and Winston.
Something’s Going Around - McCatheter would be the clear pick from this episode, likely as the timed exclusive. I would love to have him in his ghost and human forms, but we’d probably only the ghost version of himself. The ghost accessory would probably be one of the first two ghosts he recruited after stealing Ecto-1. The human figure would naturally be Louis, as this was his debut episode.
Trading Faces - I guess the timed exclusive figure from this would be Slimer’s evil twin? The human figure could be filled by a previously-unreleased signficant human figure.
Elementary My Dear Winston - The timed exclusive would likely be Moriatry, though I would definitely like to have Holmes and Watson to complete the set. The “Hound” (of the Baskervilles?) would be a nice extra, but wouldn’t be a dealbreaker. The human figure could be filled by a previously-unreleased signficant human figure, or “Doctor” Winston Zeddemore.
Slimer’s Curse - The timed exclusive would be Jonathan Tightly, the human figure could be filled by a previously-unreleased signficant human figure.
Partners in Slime - The timed exclusive would be Boss Poso, the ghost accessory could be Shifter, and the human figure could be GBII-style Janine.
Til Death Do Us Part - The timed exclusive would be Dixie (in her ghost appearance), a small unreleased ghost could serve as the set’s ghost accessory, and the human figure would be Egon’s mother.
Three Men and an Egon - The timed exclusive would be the old, bigger version of the Clock Ghost, the accessory would be the smaller, younger version of the Clock Ghost, and the human figure could either be teenage Egon, or a previously-unreleased signficant human figure.
Kitty-Cornered - I’m not even sure this one is worth the effort to consider.
If I Were a Witch Man - Either the mist form of Kestrel, or her human form from the start of the episode would be the clear choice for the timed exclusive figure (with a Kestrel-Egon head accessory to go on the previously-released figure of Egon), the human figure would either be Mayor Moody or Margaret Prandish.
It’s About Time - There’s no one specific ghost to this episode, and most of the humans comprise the 1959 fire fighters who crewed the Firehouse, this episode is probably one worth skipping.
The Halloween Door - Boogaloo would obviously be the timed exclusive, either the “big bad” figure size, or another build-a-figure. The ghost accessory could be one of the distinctive spirits working for Boogaloo, while the human figure would be Doctor Crowley.
Jailbusters - Either the Judge or the Governor would be the timed exclusive figure for this set, with one of the ghosts encountered at the prison being the ghost accessory. The human figure would either be Janine or Louis in their Ghostbusters uniforms from this era of the show.
Surely You Joust - I’m not even sure this one is worth the effort to consider.
Future Tense - The water elemental would be the natural choice, and again would need to be reduced in size. The human figure could be a previously-unreleased signficant human figure.
Venk-Man! - No… I can’t in good conscious propose anything from this lousy episode.
Loose Screws - I’m not even sure this one is worth the effort to consider.
The Ghostbusters! Live, from Al Capone’s Tomb! - Al Capone would probably be the timed exclusive, though he could actually be done as the accessory, and one of his goons be the bigger, timed exclusive.
Revenge of the Ghostmaster - This would present the opportunity to feature Ghostmaster if he hadn’t already been featured in a previous set, along with any outstanding members of his bounty hunters.
Slimer Streak - The Player would be the obvious candidate for the timed exclusive, but he’s not likely to be high on anyone’s lists.
The Ransom of Greenspud - I’m not even sure this one is worth the effort to consider.

There may be the occasional ghost from this era of the show that might be worth considering… But by and large, most of the episodes from 1990-1991 aren’t worth consideration. It’s possible that Makoveris Lotsabucks would be the only ghost interesting and important story-wise enough to immortalise in plastic.
So these things take a while to get out of China, huh?
Anyhoo, the campaign for the Deadly Trio starts here. We need to get this message to Mondo. Spend that Funko money on a real deep cut, but one which at least 3 fans would love! Plus a ghost wearing a proton pack… that’ll sell! I know other ghosts wear packs eg. Lights! Camera! Haunting! But the Deadly Trio are a much cooler design - and they’re not even the lead ghosts in the episode they’re in!
One estimate I found indicated 1-6 working days for international express, which means we might hear something around Thursday.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the “companion” ghosts that the original figures came with. We did see versions of them in the original renders of the RGB figures so I wonder if there is a plan to release them in a four pack? I admit I was a bit surprised after seeing them that they were NOT packed in with the figures already. I know, we are getting other ghosts instead with them that are not the big bad ghosts, but one could figure they might or the plans to do them might already exist.
Would they be above doing a Kenner based card release with those companion ghosts? lol /sarc
It is probably a licensing thing. From what I have gathered, Mondo can do stuff from the cartoon but not the Kenner toyline. Those original renders from a while back was just a fan thing that someone who happened to be from Mondo did. It wasn’t official in any sort of manner.
