Mood slime not effecting Egon in GB2, Deleted scene maybe?

Anyone else wonder why the mood slime didnt seem to cause Egon to go berzerk like Ray and Winston did after they swam in it? I think there might have been a scene left on the cutting room floor suggesting he found away to resist the effects of the slime.

Close… at first when Ray and Winston are fighting, you think he’s going to break it up, but instead he got angrier than they did, shouting, “If you two are looking for a fight, you’ve got one!”

Here it is in the script:

I know the moment survived visually in the NOW Comics adaptation-- albeit with RGB likenesses-- and probably appears in the novelization, too. Anyone recall?

Tonally, it’s the exact same moment from GB1 as when he shouts at Peck, “Your mother!” so they probably wisely decided to cut out his anger and just jump straight to his realization that they’re all acting out of character.

That was the scene that had to be reshot after a camera malfunction. The actors probably didn’t have to dig deep to find the anger of the characters that night. Mood slime method acting.

Ha! I just wrote it off as a subtle gag that Egon is the most in control of his emotions among the 4 and mood slime wouldn’t affect a type of person like him.

That’s how I always took it too. I didn’t realize read recently he was supposed to get in on the fighting as well. Either way works really. The original way, Egon figures out what’s happening by how odd he’s behaving. The final way, like you said, he just naturally has better control of himself.

I always wondered why he didn’t succumb to the effects too. Before he stops the fight, he’s looking at his hands like he had balled up fists and then snaps out of it. When I read the NOW Comics adaptation, it felt complete.

What I find stranger is that he managed not to lose his glasses!

It probably almost came off at some point and he put them in his pocket while they were floating in the slime.

I also noticed that the effects of the slime didnt kick in until Ray and Winston were out of the manhole, figured they would be ranting and raving at each other on the way up

This clip shows what appears to be the rehearsal of that scene, with Egon getting in on the fight (0:53)

Wow! Great find!

I was reading the graphic novel The Real Ghostbusters in Ghostbusters 2 the other day, and I noticed that Egon is involved in the scene just as it is depicted in the clip from the script Alex provided.

EDIT: And if I had been paying full attention to Alex’s post the first time and not just the script clip, I would’ve noticed that he also pointed that out too.
