And just wanted to correct myself, it’s a little under 9", at 8.625" OD, but it’s not really going to bother me too much. It’s a 3-foot section for $26.24, plus I think around $15 for shipping, so just a little over $40. I think the compromise in a slightly heavier weight and smaller diameter is worth not having to worry about the durability when I mount it.
Does the mounting piece that goes on the tank have to be 4" tall? We are going to try one of those sheets of aluminum with holes in it, you can get for garage doors…
We’re planning to use cardboard shipper tubes for the tanks as well but I plan on running a piece of 2 by 4 in the center tank and a thinner dowel rod in the smaller ones as a “spine” to give the screws something to grab. Also it will give me a guide point as to where the 2 x 4 is
