Hi! I tried the search function, but did not come up with anything useful. Does anyone know if there are pics of packs using an MP3 player for sound? Thanks in advance.
I haven’t seen any pics of any, but I think that with a little elbow grease, you could use the Personal Soundtrack T-Shirt’s hardware: http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts-apparel/interactive/a5bf/
wire the thing to an amp, and change the wiring of some buttons on the remote to DPDT switches..
it might not be easy, but I think it should at least be doable!
Both Teamhair and myself have the sound shirt mp3 players for sound. We mounted the maoin box on the back of the mb with velcro, and mounted the speaker with it as well around the middle back area.
We run the wired controller over the left shoulder, and have it velcro on the shoulderpad. You can easily select the buttons with your right arm.
It works well in moderate areas, but when you get into a club, or a very noisy location, the sound just gets drown out.
For the price, I thought they were a good deal.
Thanks guys, I saw the shirt and I might have to go this route this year.
I decided to use an Arduino and a Wave Shield for my setup. I haven’t completed it yet but it has the ability to have 6 buttons programmed to play 6 different sounds when pressed.
I decided on using 3 for sound effects and 3 for music from the movies.
I’m hooking it up to a cheap iHome iPod dock I “re-purposed”
Just a suggestion.
Nice, I decided to purchase a Replica Props Sound Module. Just paid for it!! Can’t wait to get it and add some sounds to my scratch pack!
