Now that the game has been out for a little while, I figured we should share. I want to hear your best multiplayer stories.
Mine is as follows:
I was doing a campaign in the museum and survival was the last mission. We got to wave 8 which was Class VII Possessors that possess the statues. After we defeated all of them, the round would not end. There was one statue that was glitching in the corner. After running around for about 3 minutes, we came to the decision that this was why the wave would not end.
Then someone had this great idea. “Hey, why don’t we cross the streams?”
So all four of use proceeded to fully cross the streams, which in turn knocked us all down, ending the match. Even though we only made it to wave 8, it was awesome. Better then quitting out and loosing all the money I earned.
Do you post on the XBL forums? I thought I read something like that over there…

Eh, regardless. That was fricking smart. I had the same glitch happen to me with one of the Cultists on the cemetary level in Survival. We didn’t have the brains to think about that. =P
Did you ever get the stream of light glitch, too? I dunno what the hell that was, but where the ghost was stuck, there was a purple stream of light going out to the ground. And when I picked up my trap, it then streamed out from my thigh. Weird.

This was the second time it glitched like this for me, normally it runs smoothly. I never had the light beam glitch though. Needless to say, I know what I’m doing the next time this happens . . .
Same thing happened to me twice in the museum during survival on the 8th or so wave. Nothing came we just looked around confused till we crossed the streams to end the level. Sucked too cause we had a great run going.
Also was wondering if anyone knows what the deal is with the zombie ghostbuster skin and also I saw someone with another face, wasn’t any of the 5 guys. Just wanted to know.
Last night I did a survival match with my bro on xbox live and a couple of people who randomly filled in the 2 public slots i left opened. We were on the rooftop of that one building in the times square campaign and we were really kicking some ass ■■■■■■■■ when the final wave came and stay puft reared his ugly jetpuffed head over the edge of the building and started spawning the endless wave of his little marshmallow minions. We were kickin his candy ass and we had his health ring down to ONE little slice left. JUST ONE! I hosed down a bunch of the minions with pink slime so they were focusing more on each other than on us giving us the opportunity we needed to get up to stay puft and get that last bit of health to achieve victory… We rushed up to stay puft in a line… like supernatural soldiers and started blasting when suddenly in a fit of rage stay puft slammed the building and knocked all 4 of us out in one fatal blow! It was HORRIBLE! Not a single person left standing to revive one another. We wore him down to nothing just to be taken out in the peak of our glory. It was quite a frustrating moment. :sigh:
Yeah, I think I was playing with you on Live. I honestly don’t remember who was in that game with me but it could have been you. Needless to say, it was a cool idea to end the glitched game.
Yeah, it happened to me once before when I was playing with just one other player so when I saw him blasting around I just crossed with him to end it. I figured the same glitch happened again and it was the only way to get out of the level.
I hope they fix it soon, the time with you was the third time its happened to me.
I tried playing some Ranked matches today and wow, what amount of NOT FUN that was. One guy kept knocking me down over and over in Slime Dunk. It was so annoying, but I never quit out of a match, so I just took it. I’d get up, he’d blast me back down - over and over. Oh well, I hope he enjoys his negative feedback.
Then in some campaign, everyone had MY TRAP! MY TRAP! syndrome. The ghosts were flying all over the place. One trap would start a capture, then someone would yank it out and try to move it to theirs. It got the point where I’d just hold the stream and let them bicker over where it’s going. I did have a good Survival run with some random dudes, we did all 10 rounds - That seems the be only game type where people actually work together. It’s just annoying when you’re playing a team oriented game and people still act like it’s a FFA.
I hear ya there! I’ve run into those problems as well. That’s why whenever possible i try to play with the guys here on the forums. I play with FoomMan, UltimateGBfan, MrNoGhost and a bunch of other cool guys and we all have a blast playing.
i tryed to do a multiplayer with 2 controllers and it didnt work it only showed the one with xbox live, is there a way of doing it without having to have both controllers on XBL
I was playing a Slime Dunk match the other day and this jerk I was playing against kept shooting me with the proton stream and knocking me down. Mind you, I had something like a 6 point lead at this point.
Poor sportsmanship is not in the employee handbook. :sigh:
I also had the game glitch on a Survival game. In the office building right before Stay Puft peaks up over the hole in the blown out wall… We could hear him roaring but he wouldn’t show- We did the cross the streams thing too. (I posted this story on the xbox live forums) I absolutely LOVED it!
Also, during a survival match in the museum (Not the Mayan Temple one) we all decided to take cover from the two golems in the hallway. Well the little scuttlers started coming out of the wall in there. A guy had a golem at each door and the two of us were fighting these waves of scuttlers and helping fallen comrades… Madness! We ended up biting it trying to get out of the hallway. I haven’t seen the crawlers come out of the hole in the hallway since but I’m still leary whenever I go through there.
I reall don’t like it when you have four guys in and there and maybe just one newbie and the other experienced players are assholes to the newbie! I had many experiences with this and found myself the only one helping out the newbie! So far only people from the boards have been enjoyable to play with!
Everyone’s a newbie at one time or another… I try to keep a level head when the newbie’s steal my stasis powerups and waste them! I joke but Ghostbusters has a serious advantage right now in that alot of the online players are older and more mature when compared to other online multiplayer games. It won’t be long before the younger trash-talking punks invade so lets keep it a gentlemans game and enjoy it while it lasts…
Yeah I try and help out the new players, give em hints to take out the ghosts. I odn’t like being an ass because I hate it when I get a new game and have to deal with dicks like that.
