My 1st ever scratch built prop: Belt gizmo

I just wanted to share this with you guys in hopes of getting some kind of feedback on it. Good or bad, anything that could help improve or any compliments would be greatly appreciated

To me I always felt the belt gizmo was the most lacking part of my uniform. I have MMMs belt gizmo which, don’t get wrong is great! Its just not detailed enough for an OCD fan like me. Having started a new job at a sign place I now had access to all sorts of professional machines which opened the doors to scratch building props. This is my first scratch built prop (I don’t count my pack becuase all those parts come from other users) and Ive been working on it for about 2 weeks. Its in the home stretch now but here is what I go so far.

First off this is the picture I biased it off of. After much research through this form I found this to be the proper one used in the films.

Now onto mine.

The stickers are printed on vinyl and the board-chips are all laser cut from colored acrylic. I then drilled all the holes for the 4 white chips to put real wire though for the connections. I did the same for the glass tubes. I had to custom add the wires myself to match the brow, black, white, red, black pattern from the movie (sorry for the picture quality folks  )

I still have a bit to do. I have all the resistors/details on the left side to add, as well as the 8 orange ones which Ill be getting tomorrow. Last I have to make the black box which I plan on doing at work. I hope you guys like it!

Looks like a decent build you got going there. Getting the insulation on the nixie wires is a bitch isn’t it? :sigh:

That picture’s the best one to go by though there are a few others I used as well when making mine. I’ve uploaded them here: http://s136.photobucket.com/albums/q185/jackdoud/Ghostbusters/Belt%20Circuit/Reference/ to get them all in one place.

Good luck with finishing the build.
