Decided to build a 3/4 scale (roughly) pack for my nephews 4yr birthday. I attempted to make it as light as I could, ended up being almost exact 10lbs, so he might have to grow into it a little ha.
Anyways its foam core, electrical boxes, MDF motherboard, PVC tube, aluminum, and some bits of pine wood. The alice pack frame is 1/2in PVC tube with straps from a back pack I bought from goodwill for $3. Lighting is just universal chaser LED kit from ebay for $3. Painted everything with black Plasti-dip which works well on the foam as long as you do multiple real light coats for the first few.
