My Belt Gizmo and Uniform Start - Need Some Help

Hi There!

My name is Chris, i am 31 and come from germany.

I started my first Gizmo Belt build and tried to make ceramic resistances out of clay but it looks sh***y as hell  https://ibb.co/nMzmL6

Does anyone know where i can buy eight of those?

Hope u can help. Cheers, Chris

They are capacitors, not resistors. Looking on eBay for ceramic capacitor might come up with some better results

p.s. Looks fantastic so far!

Those don’t look that bad, but look for Radial Ceramic Disc Capacitors. Not sure what size or voltage you want, but these things are relatively cheap.

Thank you both so far.

I´ve bought some capacitors on ebay. (need 8 - buy 100

I will continue building as soon as the remaining materials have arrived. Try to realize the lighting with an arduino nano and wanted to achieve an additional flashing effect via a pressure switch.

I think this is a nice project to start with an arduino.

Cheers

Hello there!

Well…Ok. I´m finish with my Belt Gizmo and added the lights. This is also my first “arduino & 123D Design” project.

The LED Support-Parts are also on thingiverse if you want to print it for yourself.

Here is a short demo of the build:

The last thing to add are three red cables at the small box.

Cheers, Chris

Looks great but the “kit” version doesn’t include the main circuit board portion.

Right. I‘ve made the board out of sintra(?) These heat foamable plastic boards. But you can use the full version and „cut“ it digital.

Ahh ok, PVC/styrene board. Makes sense. If you got a bag of 100 ceramic capacitors, fancy swinging 16 over to a fellow GB fan?! haha. I still need to make a gizmo for my wife and I
