I agree! Plus I think it’s more fun to build things yourself than to buy a kit. Here are the parts Im starting with. Aside from the striped tape, a few Radio Shack knobs and the spray paint; everything else is from the local dollar shops. Wish me luck! I hope to have this done by the weekend to do some filming. I also have Proton Grenades to build, but I will save those for another thread

And here is what I’ve made so far in under an hour while Dancing With The Stars was on. I didnt want to watch it, so what else was I to do? Keep in mind this is unpainted, missing the handle, the doors and the side panels with the knobs and such.

It looks a little wide, but im still excited to see the finished product. If it looks as good as your proton pack then i will be very impressed.
True the proportions will not be perfect and it’s a little girthy, but my other items have the same issues and I think they still look ok

Definetly looking forward to seeing the innovations here and cheap alternatives! Hopefully people will continue to see this thread and your proton pack as Halloween ever so slowly creeps up on us.

It seems some people just show up sometimes unwilling to ever do anything themselves unless it involves buying a finished product. Where’s the fun in that? 
Im hoping to get the black painted tonight and the handle on at least. Possible the side panels as well, depending on how fast the paint dries.

I think it’s starting to look pretty good. Here it is after a few coats of a mix between flat and semi-gloss blacks. I think I can have it finished tomorrow night. It would just be nice if the weather would warm up so the paint could dry as fast as it’s supposed to. What do you guys think?

It’s great. It won’t catch on fire, glue just pulls off of it and it has raised edges so things dont slide around.

All I have to do is add the doors and the wheels, and the trap is done! I think (at least I hope) you guys will be quite surprised at the outcome. Pics this weekend, if not by late tonight.

It’s done! I’m REALLY happy with the results. What do you guys think? More pics and video with special effects later this weekend!
AND just for giggles I made a new weapon for the Ghostbuster arsenal out of pepper shakers, a jumprope, clips and hot-glue from the dollar store:
Dude, I think its great!! you get tired of the same ol same ol but i have to admit for a dollar store trap it looks damn close to the actual trap
ok, the trap is great!!! The protons grenades are cool, but I would clean up the goo around the edges to make them look “clean” The trap turned out really well considering that it was dollar store stuff!

No offense to the guy but better than one guy on here put yellow tape in a few stripes on an old black computer mouse… :sigh: looking at the picture of him was a bit depressing as he went out for halloween with his girlfriend, as a GB with a less than accurate outfit only to have I guess 3 or 4 guys with the full shebang with lights and all and his gf was like “sorry”
