My Final Pack...Comments?

Please let me know what you think! And please let me know what i missed or what i can improve upon…my next project is going to be making the correct ribbon cable and a trap!

It’s hard to see but I put the volume control know for my amp on the outside of the mother board, and since I didn’t quite know how long the batteries would last so I put those on the outside as well.

Is my V-Hook at the correct angle? It’s a pain in the neck to get at the gun, as you can see I moved it closer to my body, it helped but its nearly impossible for me to put it back on myself (without a mirror or my wife doing it for me)

That’s exactly how I want mine to look! Very nice work there man. Your paint job seems a bit dull though, what kind of paint did you use?

Oh man, now I feel like I should repaint. LOL. It was Rustoleum Flat protective enamel. Really easy to work with on the shell. The resin parts were a bit of a challenge.

Looks great. Nice work.

No way. It looks great! Flat black is the shit man! I think your pack looks perfect as is!

Cool. Thanks KC and anti-venom.

What about my v-hook placement? Is it at the correct angle? Like I said, it;s a real bitch putting it back onto the pack without help or looking in the mirror!

It’s whatever you’re comfortable with. In GB1 they were almost straight up and then angled in GB2. Some people angle them too much and the handle is practically laying on their shoulder. Only a few lucky ones can reholster their gun, that is why we never take ours off.

I’ always need help to put it back! :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks great man and I dig you going for the GB1 look! I like the paint as is, think it’ll look great with some slight weathering…

A sidenote, on the GB1 packs the blue tubing that feeds to the top of the ion arm goes into the actual ion rod mount, not the arm. You probably knew this already but I figured since you asked for some pointers I’d offer one. I really think you did a great job on this- Truly! Looking forward to seeing how your ribbon cable comes out! (I’m tackling that myself using the E6000 method…)

It got to a point where time was my enemy and I stopped looking so closely at the reference pics, as they weren’t all the same and my head started to spin. LOL Can you show me a picture of what you what you mean?

Thanks man, it really is the first time I’ve ever build anything! My big question is where would I find the color cables?

I take it we never see them put it back in the movies? Those sly dogs

At least I’m not the only one…I thought I was doing something totally wrong!

See how the blue tube hooks into the actual ion rod mount…?

You can also see the angle on the gunmount too…

So I actually purchased the wrong Ion Arm Mount. Yes?

BUT you could just paint your crank knob black and have a GB2 pack! Haha.

An excellent point. Is nice. I like!

That’s what I’d do if I were you- Great suggestion Matt!

Adding the belt hook to the gun takes less than 30 minutes and then you don’t have to worry about re-holstering the gun. Its also a great way to have it readily at hand to show off (or shoot ghosts). And, I no longer need my wife to trail behind me to help me put the gun back…

Well, well, well. Must be nice to be perfect. LOL

Notice anything?

Seriously though, the leather snap thingy that I bought from the BGFans shops kept coming unsnappd with the weight of the gun on there so I just hung it directly on my belt. Since I got rained out this Halloween, I haven’t been able to wear my entire get up very much at all, so I can’t give everything a good endurance test. Its a bummer really, as it was my “first time” as a GB

Looks good, but is your ion arm crooked? Nice heavy duty hook, too. One thing we found out the hard way with the wand is it puts a lot of weight on the Dixie clip so it can pull the gun track off of the wand or the piece off the gun mount box. so make sure they are secure. : )
