First I’d like to thank Powlowski for selling me his shell, almost completed gun, bumper and throwing in a light kit. I’d also like to thank momeraths24 for donating his time and spare parts to my build. A final thanks to Austin for donating parts as well. Without all of you my dream of having a Proton Pack (I’ve wanted one since I was 3 or 4.) would not be possible.
I’d also like to state that I know the shell is imperfect and some parts aren’t accurate. And yes the shell is in two pieces. The shock mount in the pictures will soon be replaced by an accurate one.
I DID NOT build the gun. I will be adding the Clippard valve and trigger tip myself though. The light kit in the picture is not mine. I won’t be adding lights for awhile.
Looks great. I know mine isn’t going to be completely accurate as well, but I’ve dreamed about having one since I knew what a Proton Pack was. In the end, it’s your pack and you’re the only person that should be happy with it.
Almost done! Just need to get a cable clamp and metallic labels. Still have to attach the shock mount, v-hook, and splitless loom. Then install the lights and mount this beauty onto the ALICE frame. XD Weathering will probably be the last thing I do.
Fantastic! I think it looks great without weathering, might be nice to keep it as is but thats just my opinion. Looking forward to seeing this all mounted to a frame and lit up
The pack looks awesome. I am in agreement with nick-a-tron with leaving it unweathered. It could look cooler if it weathered on its own. Cant wait to see it finished.
Well Francine is pretty much finished, just waiting on the metallic labels. No lights yet. I’m going to wait till it gets closer to the next con to add lights. Unfortunately I broke the mechanism for the crank knob so it’s doesn’t turn. I plan on eventually getting a real one anyway. The ribbon cable is horrible. I will eventually purchase one from madeinsocal. Overall though I’m so excited she’s done.
I see you got that Clippard on the gun. Did you get the trigger tip too?
Ribbon cable really doesn’t bother me at all. The ion rod kinda blends in a little too well in the photos…I can barely see it since you weathered it. Just sayin’…Francine is HOT and I can’t wait till she’s giving onlookers seizures with her new lights!
