I say “Finished” cause I’m always adding or changeing stuff to it. Since the gun wasn’t movie accurate I thought why should the pack be? So I made it based off the Movie pack and the pack My Mattel Retro Wenston figure.
From what I’ve been able to find out a movie style pack is 25 inches long. I checked and mine is 20 inches. And I do have the cyclotron lights running but I accidentally wired them backwards so instead of clockwise they run counter clockwise. By the time I realized my mistake I had all ready put everything together and I’m not about to rip everything apart now to fix it. Also since I don’t have time to wait for an Alice Frame to come in I’ve temporary mounted it onto the traps of an old backpack which seems to work just fine.
Thanks, I wish there had been more feedback on this project but the impression I’m getting is if your work isn’t movie accureate or even close it doesn’t get much attention. Could be wrong. In the end though it doesn’t really matter as I made the pack for myself and no one else, and I’m happy with it.
Hey bud . . Post some more pics . . Maybe from different angles and and put something in the pics that we can get scale off of . . Its hard to get a feel for it with just the one shot. . . It looks pretty awesome . . And Like Alan said its all yours man . . Its easy to see you put time and effort into it . . CONGRATS
You’re right. In my time on this site, I’ve noticed that most of the attention and mega, multi-page threads go to the hardcore movie-accurate builds. Nothing really wrong with that, just the nature of the beast I suppose.
I would also like to see more pics of your work, esp some various angles of the gun.
I have a small issue, nothing worth complaining about or anything but you pack is a carbon copy of everyone elses then what’s there to distinguish it from everyone elses? If what you want is a movie accurate pack I have no probems at all with that, by all means go for it and have fun building it. I like to be a little creative.
Good point. In the end its your pack. Plus in the “Ghostbuster Universe” there are numerous franchises out there and time has of course passed so yours could be a newer or modified pack design or both.
Agreed, it gave me the vibe of the packs that came with the RGB figures (based on the promo). Always had a soft spot for those particular packs. And points for the Teletraan-1 reference.
For now at least. I’ll be makeing changes to it later next year when I have more free time. I based the design off the pack from my Mattel Retro Real Ghostbusters Winston figure.
Since I didn’t have time to make a proper LED Light bar to indicate power I put in two LEDs that produce multi-colors (from a Dollar Store battery powered tea light). I’ll be uploading a video of how they look lighted up later.
Didn’t have time to install the lightbar system in the thrower either so instead I put in a LED chaser setup which also runs the chaser lights in the pack. Once I have the LED Bar in place I plan to move the LEDs to the side. The Gun itself makes a sound effect thanks to a Dollar store Lazer pistol.
The tip of the throw flashes bright red when the gun is “Fired” and sounds simular to my old Ghost Zapper, and it does make a power down sound when you release the fireing button.
Now I know not many of you like fan made packs that are not 100% movie accurate but I would like to get some feedback. Just keep in mind this is my first attempt at a Pack build.
