My ghost trap Scratchbuild DONE (ish)

ok guys while im waiting for funds so i can build my pack i decided to start my ghost trap,

i got a load of foamex and cut out measurements to seans plans,

as you can see the sides are starting to come together

and this is my progress at it currently stands as of posting

im just considering tryin epoxy to stick the bits at the sides that are double the thickness of the rest so that i can move on

Looking good so far. Im rebuilding a prop trap I won on ebay for 1$.

thanks

some more progress

i have the outer frame sticking together as we speak with epoxy, when its dry and set then it will be the right thickness and i can build more

How much does foamex usually run? Can you get it at a home depot?

not sure but i got 10 sheets of A4 3mm thick for £12 (about $19ish) from ebay

Are youGlad you went with the foamex in the end?

, I’ve been using it for years and it really is a great material for scratch building, what glue did you end up using?

Don tforget to give it all a good rub down with wet and dry and a wash before you paint it.

yeah such a treat to work with

And I’m using epoxy glue and a hot glue gun lol

little update

managed to put most of it together, just need to get a light thing and switch for the battery box b4 i can attact it to the rest

would putty be ablle to seal foam core ?

What kind of putty?

milliput 2 part epoxy, I hope it does coz I’ve ordered it lol

is there a decent alternative for the red light on it ? coz if i want a screen accurate 1 i gotta get it from the states and theres no way im paying $46 (£30ish) on delivery of an item thats worth no more than $6 (£4)

any1 ?

If I had a spare I would give it to you. Im sure some will help you out. I’ll check and see if I have another but I pretty sure I used mine up.

Maplin website may have something, or RS or Farnell.

Ok I ordered a red light cap only that will do for now, will post updates later on as I’m on the iPad sat on the throne, hopefully the trap will be completed in a day or 2, and as its only a belt hanger I’m gonna see about scratchbuilding a pedal to go with it

Ok due to the primer not getting delivered and the royal mail failing to redeliver it when I requested the trap isn’t finished yet, it’s all done bar painting/pedal will post pic tomorrow

Will you be doing anything special to reinforce the foam once complete or will it be strong enough as is?

I used little wooden blocks to reinforce the corners as you can see in the last picture of my 1st post, also I was very generous with hot glue all over it and the epoxy putty I used to seal the edges reinforced it a lot more,

Pics to follow
