Have you tried servos (like in R/C cars)? The servo arm can be attached to a single arms that joins 2 other arms that connects to the doors.
When power is sent to the servo, it moves the connecting arms up/down to open/close the doors. You may need a relay or some type of servo control to limit the rotation of the servo motor.
Switches (your choice) - this can either be placed under the pedal as a momentary switch or maybe incorporate a true remote control system (again, cheap remote kit with servos/receiver @ $40).
Add your other electronics like the sequential LED display and various LEDs to the sequence and Voila’ - a Ghost Trap only a mother could love.
BTW - you maybe want to incorporate a fog machine (uses liquid fog) or use dry ice (caution - water and electronics don’t play well together).
No, but my co-workers and I are in the process of making the packs, slime blower, traps, and goggles. We are pretty much done with the suits (still waiting for the patches to arrive) and that darn yellow hose - can’t find that garden hose mender item that is mentioned in one of the tutorials.
Also, still looking for the belt key hangers - any suggestions, local or online?
I will hopefully post progress and completed pics of all the items before of just after Halloween.

It’s beyond addicting. Hell, in a few weeks I’ll be attempting to build a pack in under a week, just waiting for the parts to come in.
As for the trap doors, your best bet is to buy the servo control kit from Hyperdyne Labs. It’s a bit expensive, but it works. You just have to know what wires to cross and what to extend. Make sure you get two servos and a Y-cable as the board they provide only has a connection for ONE server. (they offer the servos and y-cable). They also offer light kits for the trap and proton packs, but they are expensive. Honestly, you’re better off doing the lights yourself unless you ABSOLUTELY have to have everything movie accurate. Adding the door electronics after building the thing might be a pain in the ass depending on how your built the trap, but it is doable (I’ll take some close up pics of mine later if you want to shwo you what I mean).

I bought the Vector plates off another member of this board (I won’t get into the story behind them) I’m seriously thinking of buying a lot of Vector plates, having them machined and offering them up to the guys on here but not until after Halloween. I’m so bogged down with stuff right now :lol:
not sure if this is what your looking for for the “belt key hangers” but this is what I bought for my belt’s key ring only plain and since I used the grey gb2 uniform I had to paint it a light grey
Also, this is where I bought my paratrooper zip-side boots from in case anyone is looking for that too
