Wow. Thats ballsy. I thought I was a procrastinator. I started building mine a few months ago, and I have been working on it steady since. I am still cutting it close.
Be sure to put a few coats of housepaint on your foam generator, and do NOT use any spray paint on it except krylon h20.
Housepaint will give your sync generator a plastic “skin” that’s pretty tough. you could do that after halloween though, since yer tight on time, and the paint takes 1 hour to dry between coats. Putting a fan on it will help alot, and also keep the temperature warm enough for the paint to dry quickly. (It dries MUCH slower in colder temps.
It will be done by 6pm which is perfect. Im running out now to grab a few more things mostly the real parts and drill them in. But yeah, my wand my brother made at his job from aluminum! So he and my sister are mostly to credit with helping me. It certainly wasnt a solo effort. It would have been done by now if I didnt have to do stupid things like go to work…I hate work…
SO, yes the pack was completed in time to make appearances at two parties. NO it isnt screen accurate but I got a ton of complements and no one seemed to notice. Here’s the pics:
My jacket in it’s natural state. This thing is SHINY! I didnt know I could take the hood off to make it more authentic as a flight jacket.
So now Im going to be making a screen accurate pack as one of my three costumes for next year. Yes, I take Halloween seriously, it’s my birthday.
