Hey guys! I just thought I’d post a couple of close-up shots of what I’ve been up to this month. I’m making a Plasm Distribution System (Slime Blower Mock ll attachment for the Proton Pack) from Ghostbusters the Video Game. If all goes well I’ll have the attachments on my proton pack at San Diego Comic Con 2010. I’ll be posting pics as things progress, and I’ll post pics of the raw materials I used later! The pics will progress to the PDS attached to the Pack I’m also starting from scratch. I just have one question for you guys, Should I go ahead and use GREEN cyclotron lights too? Enjoy!

@ xtrmn8r: Haha thanks! There’s real slime in there too! I just got to figure out how to attach it. The filled tube is top-heavy and wants to lean back and forth.
@ RayGBuster: Yeah I really want to put in GREEN cyclotron lights. Lighting the pack will probably be the last thing I’ll tackle. I’m hoping to eventually order from one of the members who are savy with lighting in the “Sale” forum, and see if they can just place green lights for the cyclotron instead of red.
Thats looking badass dude, i love the slime booster tube. will the slime canister tube be able to slide completely back down into the booster tube so as to look like a proton pack in its original state?
as for lights, yes! get yourself some green flashlight lenses and i suggest contacting Proptronix as he states in his light kit thread that he can use colors other than red if you ask him to.
he has already made pack kits with green lights for users EctoGlow and progolferCD
What if you had a smaller tube inside and just fill with slime in between the two? It would even give you room for adding lights inside the tube if you wanted to make it glow…

Man, I’ve been really racking my brain on how to keep the slime booster fixed AND have the ability to push it down. I’ll say so far it’s safe to say it’s going to stay fixed. Plus there is no way this pack is going to look like the original pack when the tube is down anyway. I’m going to be adding the slime tank to it’s side along with all the slime-filled tubes running from the tank, through the pack, to the wand/blower. That’s the plan anyway.
It’s SO funny you say that because I used clear acrylic on the bottom of the tube to shoot a single LED up it. But this is a helpful idea. Now the tube will be lighter in weight AND I’ll be able to strand lights through it to make it even brighter. I made a trip to Home Depot after reading this suggestion. Thanks!
Preparing lights. The additional box attached to the gun box has three rows of blue scrolling lights that look like minature versions of the Power Cell lights.
I’m still pretty new to this site (and I consider myself new to prop making too) so when some of you told me a couple guys have made PDS’s I was surprised. I thought I was the first but I guess I was foolish to think so considering the huge following on this site. Anywho I was also surprised that they either didn’t have lights at all on all the “upgraded” parts on the gun or they had lights the wrong color (red/orange). These lights will at least be the right color. Did I say they were bright too?

What sort of metallic paint did you use for this? It looks great!
Also, how did you make that? It looks solid, like you vac formed it. But is it even possible to vac form over a cylinder like that?
The method for constructing the portholes has me curious as well.

Those rings look like solid metal keyrings you can get at Home Depot. Other than that, I’m not sure where he got it.
Well, it’s still really cool with all the mods he did to it, even if the main shell is a found item. It really does look likea slime blower!
Thanks for the compliment! Yes, I did start with the Nickelodeon Slimer. Looking at it we can all agree it begs to be modded to a slime blower. As for the rings I actually used Rubber Rings. I had some strong metal ones but they were an utter nightmare to bend and keep flush to the shell. The rubber rings solved that dilema. I glued them to the shell and spray painted the entire thing, following with a clear gloss spray. I’ll get back to you on the specifics other than it was rustolium brand.
