Ok, This has been bugging me for awhile…A long while! But Ive just got it figured out. While we don’t know (myself mainly) when a GB3 will come out and actually I dont think that it should. I was wondering who could be good for a remake. And maybe we can start from scratch and pretend part 2 never happened as well. It was a great movie but not as good as the original. We could cry and bitch all we want about not having a Third film…why should we. All the scripts sound terrible and you know its going to have all that CG ■■■■ in it!. Why not make a remake…and hopefuly make it word for word remake. Plus add a few extra new scenes since movies now are about a half hour longer than they used to be back then. So heres my choices for a Remake!!!
Winston Zeddemore = Miguel A. Nuñez Jr. (for the most part) also good for this would be Mos Def but if you wanted “starpower” i’d get Will Smith (wasnt he up for a new winston anyways?)
For all intents and purposes now, the video game IS Ghostbusters 3 I know there is all the talk, if it’s successful, they’d see what happens after that.
I’ve never understood why anyone would want to remake Ghostbusters. There’s really no point to me. It is an unbelievably great movie in my opinion. The right timing with the right chemistry between talented funny guys who worked really well together. The music, the look of everything. It is something that will never be matched again and I don’t see why anyone would want to try it. No one, because people know better than to mess with something as sacred as the original Ghostbusters. Ghostbusters was successful and funny because of all the people involved. I wouldn’t add scenes either if the only reasoning is to “make it longer”
These are all totally my opinions though. Unless this post was an elaborate joke? It kinda sounds like it. If not, no offense :vinzclortho:
no…wasnt ment to be a joke…I just think it might actually happen in the next 4 years maybe since almost every two yeras theres real big hype around it and once they release the cartoon boxed set this fall theres really nothing else you can market except a new movie besides new shirts and toys. Unless they make a remake of Filmations Ghostbusters…LOL…
It was just my take on what they could do and whatnot…
I think a lot of Ghostbusters success was the chemistry of the characters, and thats hard to recreate. These guys knew each other very well as they had been through SCTV/or SNL/or Movies like Meatballs, Stripes ect together.
no vince vaugn or jack black or will ferrell…i cant stand seeing those 2 in casts for remakes…and even though i do like ellen page i think shed be a bit too young to play janine…she is barely 21 right now…plus she looks alot younger than she is…atleast no mention of ben stiller ill give you that…if there was a remake id go with the Proton Charging “dream team” that was put together a couple of months ago…although i still say ted raimi would be an excellent choice for louis
I actually worked with Miguel about two years ago when he was touring with a show called Men, Money and Gold Diggers. It was a pretty average UPN style drama on the stage. We used to have problems with kids breaking in to an abandoned building attatched to Willet Hall and I thought I had heard a break in, I went to investigate with my crow bar finding a door with a light on behind it. I heard shuffeling and kicked the door in and raised the crow bar only to have Miguel scream like a girl in my face.
He had been trying to find a private spot to “have a smoke.” We laughed for a good two minutes, and he was not at all stingy with his stuff and was a general pleasure to be around. He and I ended up going out at having lunch with some of the other cast and crew. Even got him to sign my two Tour of Duty Season DVDs. Good times.
He would actually be a pretty decent Winston, too.
There are just certain movies that by pure law of artistic integrity and common sense that you just do not remake…
here is a list to name a few…
Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure
Back to the future 1-3
Robocop
and of course Ghostbusters…
note the comonality between them, is the fact that they are all 80s icons, and while 88mph comics proved Ghostbusters is more timeless… the others were classics in their 80s tones that should not be retconned rebooted or revamped.
even to this day the special effects of the original ghostbusters are very believable to me, and the hold up in the age of CGI mutated poodles (Joke poked at the first Hulk movie)
In robocop, the stopmotion animation was lowtech, but very well done,
And Bill and ted… well I couldn’t take a modern incarnation of the california surfer culture seriously, so…
