Neutrona Thrower Gun Hooks

Lets just say for the sake of argument, that I have no way of getting hold of the V-hooks, I was wondering about alternative methods you guys may have come up with to secure the throwers to the packs.

Also, if any of you have any specific ideas that I may have overlooked for attaching a 1 pound gun to a styrofoam block (the pack’s side) I’d much appreciate it. Thanx!

You can get the Dixie Cups holder. That comes very close. Ask around and you can find someone who have it.

For some people, they buy lots of them to get it cheap and than sell them.

When I was looking for it, someone PM me telling me that they had some so I bought one from him.

PM me and I let you know who he is. But he may not have anymore left though.

If you have an old car citizens band radio hanging around, you might be able to use the hook on the base of the unit and the part that fits into the hook that is on the microphone.

If you look at mine, i used pieces of the spatula that i used for the gun. I took the flipper and sawed it up to make the holster.

anyone got some pictures?

You can get the gun hooks from this website:

1 link is for the male brackets, 1 is for the female.

I had lost ths link for a long time, then Exoray posted it on Proptopia.

This is doomed from the start if you’re going to be hanging anything off styrofoam. It simply can’t support weight of any kind for very long. Remake the part that will support the gun out of wood and then look into some hooks, otherwise you’re screwed. Harsh, but it’s the truth.

As for the hooks themselves, I stumbled across a nifty alternative that I used on my pack. Find an old VHS camcorder (the big kind you had to carry on your shoulder) and take it apart. If it’s the right kind of camera (and most older cameras do have this part), the eyepiece will be mounted on a small track that allows it to slide back and forth. Take apart this part of the camera and get the tracks. One will be male and the other female, of course, and slap one on the gun and the other on the pack.

Cameras like this might be kicking around Goodwill, but ask your friends and relatives first. My cousin gave me his old one and I didn’t even ask!

These are the tracks you’re looking for. They’ll be black on the camera but I repainted mine silver for my pack:

You can use a rear view mirror replacement kit from pep boys.

Awesome ideas guys, I appreciate it and I’ll start workin on it and post pics if something works!

I thought I had a V-hook set, but can now only find the male part of the hook (all my pack parts were in storage until fairly recently). Can it be salvaged, or should I just find something else entirely?
