Let me be the first to say “sweeeeeeeeeet” :boogieman: Any definitive supplies or tips you can offer potential slime blower builders? I’ve seen a lot of the plans and parts talked about but I think everyone has their own things they found on some stuff. Been trying to do the “okay what all do I need” figuring out if I wanna undertake it. New slime blowers tend to be like Bigfoot sighting around here.

Come a long way from people who use the giant trashcan on their back

Thanks alot , we are working hard every night on it trying to get it done in the next two weeks which i do see happening. We are using Slimer7’s plans and they are the easiest to use. We are coming up with easy ways to put it together and I will be more than happy to post them and we are in the process of coming up with a list of supplies and websites to find the most accurate and affordable parts. So if you have a specific question so far i have no problems helping out. I also have more pics under my profile which will get bigger.

Scott

looks great reminds me i need to start mine lol

I got 2 questions:

  1. What are you using for the cone at the end of the Slime Gun?

  2. Is the Gun PVC? If so, that is some fantastic painting and detailing. It really looks like metal.

Other than that, it looks fantastic. I will be working on mine this weekend, and I’ll post photos of mine soon in another topic.

Well we used 20 inch aluminum flashing from home depot, is about 10 bucks comes in 10 feet long. We are still making the cone hopefully this weekend and we will post pics. We used 4 inch thin walled pvc for the gun with aluminum flashing wrapped around it and gorilla glued and then we used screws on either side of the tube. Makes it look nicer than painting it and its strong.

Hope this helps

I am having a hard time loading the pictures.. but I looked at them earlier.. and it is looking great!

Love the idea of using the PVC as a backing to the flashing. I’ve always thought the flasing was similar to what they used.

its really easy to work with, the only thing you have to be careful with is drilling the holes , i had a friend use a unibit drill bit for the 3/4 inch connector. Im going to be loading more pics this weekend. Have some cool pics on how to mount the lights inside of the top accrylic dome

I’d definetly be interested in anything and everything you’re willing to tell about it when you can  Parts and whatnot, listing everything like you said. Where to find what. Great work!

I guess I’ll start with the connectors. I got them from Home Depot in the electrical department and they are two pieces. They are both 3/4 inch Halex liquid tight connectors. I threw out the plastic packaging but i can get part numbers later, not a problem. I bought five sets. three for the gun and two for one of the intake boxes and then painted gold. It cost a total of around 50 dollars for all of them, actually the most expensive part of the whole project.

The flashlights which are pretty close to movie accurate accept for the lenses are from

http://doitbest.com/Halogen+bulbs-Variflex+Bravo+Cycle+Force-model-B-043-doitbest-sku-804598.dib

They are about 8 bucks a piece, easy ordering and fast shipment.

I bought all of my lights and two project boxes from radioshack. I bought two 4x2x1 project boxes, one was painted white with a red and green round light and a switch. You will need a total of three green round lights and one red and two misc. leds on the gun box which are red and amber. I am making an led board for the power cell box. probably going to solder this weekend and post pics.

For the gun i used 20 inch x 10 foot aluminum flashing, which is in the lumber section of home depot, its in a roll and around 10 bucks. I wrapped and gorilla glued it around 4 inch thin walled pvc. The best pvc which is cheap, light and thin is in the outdoor center at home depot by the do it yourself ponds. its white and about 8-10 feet long. We used #8 screws on the sides of the gun. You can find long gold hinges at home depot if you want, I chose to exclude it on this project.

For the center tank i used an 8inch quickcrete form tube which is also at home depot. You have to check diameters because they vary. I got one that was 8 inches and one that was 9 and ill explain that in a tutorial later after i finish it.

And for the last thing tonight the accrylic domes. I got them from this link

You can find all of the sets on this page, they are all cheap, I got two sets of 4 inch, one set of 9 inch and one set of 6 inch. I got the thinner of the diameters and it seems to be working out so far.

Anyways, Hope this helps I will have more as the project moves along and more photos. But if you have any questions feel free to ask

Scott

Wow! What a great idea! I have been using both methods, except independently. First I tried just using a piece of aluminum air conditioner duck, but found that to not meet my standards. Then I tried using PCV pipe with silver spray paint, but that didn’t look right at all.

Putting the two together is fantastic! I just ran out into the garage and tried placing the aluminum air conditioner duck around the PVC pipe, and it works great! Thanks!

no problem, glad it worked for you

Very cool. Thanks for the info. Guess I need to get another Alice frame and other stuff if I’m gonna get serious about making it. I think I may hold off to wait to see more of your progress!

Then inserted it into the 9" quick crete tube.

Still struggling making the cone for the gun :frowning:

Contact slimer7 he was selling some gun cones awhile back he might still have some.

This might be kind of a dumb question, maybe not, I don’t think I had seen the answer, what is the black hosing everyone uses for the two hoses attaching to the gun? Thanks. Looks amazing! Along with NR1’s slime blower and a few others, I’m really gonna have to start doing some shopping.

Gun cone… drew up a template for the cone in CAD.. i can send it to who ever needs it. I ended up ditching the two bottom strips. I am now glueing the cone to pvc sleeve i made, to make one complete piece that will slide over the gun. Aluminum flashing is the material used.
