Hey guys, I recently came across a couple of good deals for a Nomex suit which I really need to get, but I’m unsure of the brands. Anyone heard of USGI, or Carter Industries? I realize the preferred brands are Propper or Gibson & Barnes, but I just can’t afford those at the moment. Any help would be great, thanks!
Im not sure about carter industries but USGI is what my nomex suits are. I have several friends in the military and their service flight suits are made by usgi although they are slightly different in configuration for the additional gear and equipment they have to use. One is an F22 pilot…2 have been gunners on helicopters and 1 used to be a member of the JSTARs out of robbins air force base

Someone can correct me if im wrong but it seemed like the suits my pilot pals wear had an extra entry zipper and some small flaps on the waist that they tell me is for the belt they wear in flight that puts pressure on the abdomen to keep the blood from rushing to the lower extremities during high G climbs turns etc…it was the only thing I noticed that was different compared to my flight suits…it was very minor.
Do you have any pictures of the suit? Also, random, but I grew up in Conyers, haha. Didn’t know that there were any GB so close by 
I’ve got a Carter Industries suit I bought off ebay … brand-spanking new for $45. Looks great.
I’m so conflicted, haha. I might get the Carter one first because it’s a one-shot deal. But I can return it. The USGI seems to be plenty in stock.
Your name alex by chance? Only other GB ive met local was at a bar on Halloween and he was actually wearing a biker scout costume…i was in one of my nomex suits though so it got some attention. Most all the GA GBs are in the Macon area
I dont have photos of their flightsuits…i had a look at a couple of them when i got ready to put my uniform together and noted the differences

Funny, then their is a second Alex running around Conyers that claims to roll with the GA GBs on occasion. I grew up in Conyers as well and ended up buying a house in the Covington area…
The Pointe is where I ran into that dude on Halloween.. in old town… the old Coca Cola building by the tracks is where that bar is at if you havent been home in awhile
