I’m working on my first pack build and it’s all going well, except for the booster tube which has me puzzled.
I understand that the plugin should sit nicely in the tube, inset, and look something like http://cl.ly/image/2q1H2i3H0j0Z when finished.
I bought the tube and plug from the shop on gbfans and as pictured here: http://cl.ly/image/3z0z3b2r3Z0V the plug base is larger than the tube itself.
My question is, would it be best to trim the base of the plug to fit inside the tube, or is the tube of incorrect dimensions? I’m thinking the plug will sit atop the bolt connecting the tube to the pack - is this correct also?
The PVC tube is a bit smaller than the “correct” aluminum size but it isn’t really noticeable. Just sand down the plug until it fits inside the tube. You have choices with securing the plug. Glue. Bolt. Set screw. Friction. Some builders use the plug & tube to hide things like batteries.
