Mkay, so here’s what’s going down.
I can’t read schematics. I’m not good at that stuff. Therefore, the schematics confuse me to no end. It’s frustrating because I’ve always wanted a pack/trap combo.
Which schematic out there is the easiest to follow?
Any suggestions for the noob?
How much (Approximately) would it cost to get a movie accurate costume/pack/trap combo?
If you can’t read schematics you should probably just buy a finished kit from Exoray or Proptronix or Hyperdyne Labs.

This is probably the most asked question during the Halloween season. “Where Can I Get a Proton Pack?”
First of all, it is important to know How a Proton Pack Costs. Generally a very nice Proton Pack with Lights and Sounds will run you upwards of $3,000 dollars. A high quality Pack with just lights usually runs between $1500 and $2000 dollars. Crummy Proton Packs that aren’t accurate and are made out of hosehold junk tend to go for below $1000. (These Proton Packs usually pop up around Halloween.) Additionally, there are inflatable Rubies Proton Packs that can be found at costume shops for around $50 (including a cheap looking “Flight Suit”).
Now that you are aware of the cost. Are you still interested?

There are alternatives to paying high prices for Proton Packs, and that is by building it yourself. There are plenty of parts available that will help you create a Proton Pack and doing so will save you a fortune. These links will be a help:

I’m still interested in getting a pack. I’d have to build it myself, not buy one. Can’t afford to just pay $2000 to $3000 in one go for a pack.
Most likely I’ll start buying pieces for it slowly. I don’t care for the pack/trap by halloween. Just the suit. Then the trap, and then the pack once I save up money. In the end I don’t want a cheap or junky pack so my plan from the beginning will be to have a movie accurate costume.
I saw the Looking to Buy/Own/Build a Proton Pack thread and kinda got overwhelmed since I’m new to the whole thing.

How long til someone tries to build the proton pack from the game?
You know, with the Proton Stream, Stasis Stream, PDS, and Meson Colider built into one pack?
Would it be possible? Lol I’d like to see that done.
Hehe, keep in mind that the price above is not a price tag for an already made pack with bells and whistles. You can reach that amount pretty easily if you get carried away with “accuracy”, even if you build it from scratch.
Lots of fellow members have made packs out of MDF for a fraction of that amount, and they look superb!!!
Hence why I said “in one go” I can get an accurate pack if I stretch it out over a period of time. Not like I have a wad of cash laying around. Lol
