So, I’ve been looking around and I can’t find any dimensions for the placement of the nametag or no ghost patches on a uniform. I realize that the dimensions probably change according to what size uniform you have, but I wanted to know if anyone has a “rule of thumb” measurement or an actual dimension for where to place the patches. Thanks!
generally I’d say a little space from the top of the sleeve and just eyeball it from screenshots and pin it in place where you want it and look in the mirror, trial and error, it helps if you have a second person to help you pin it. Another good tip is wear the elbow pad with it, it will help as well. Mine is in a great spot and I usually have to twist the sleeve around to get it centered back where I want it on the side of my arm…
good luck! this is the pic i usually referenced…you’re right it really does vary with how long your arms are, etc, the nametag goes pretty close to the zipper, leaving room on the otherside so that alice strap doesn’t obscure it, i get the lower corner pretty close to the pocket too…
Whatever you do, don’t put ur patch on in the inside of the front pocket like this one other guy did… :roll:

No, no, I kid. In all seriousness though, haha. Since we’re all different heights and sizes, what’s ‘accurate’ could look awful on certain people…like myself. Since I’m short. Put the flight suit on and get some bobby pins (and possibly a second person to help) while looking at the placement in the mirror. Find a spot you like and looks good then tack it on, then sew.
Bam. Easy-peasy.
first and foremost you need to remove that velcro patch because wherever your nametag falls that patch will be seen in some way.
for my patches i ended up getting a sewing loop from micheals to tighten and make a smooth flat surface where i was going to sew my patches. i also stared endlessly at every photo i could that had nametag placement and came to the conclusion that the width of my thumb’s knuckle was the best space between the name tag and the zipper. then i straightened it up from there, and sewed it on permanently.
then i repeated the process, sans thumb width, for the placement of the logo patch, by wearing my elbow pad and using pins and masking tape to hold it in place so i can put on the loop and sew.
