what do you think would be the best idea for applying the ghost and name patchs without sewing them becuz i orderd my suit and it will be here tomarrow i cant wait

Most of the patches available are iron on. Mine’s an Iron on and its not going anywhere. I got mine from americanpatches.com. After you get it ironed on you could always have someone do a quick stitch long the outside to further secure it.
Sew it.
Agreed. If something happens to your uniform, out grow it, tear it up, whatever the case may be, you can always cut the thread and remove the patch to be reused on another uniform. If you iron it on, you’ve got yourself a nice mess to deal with if you ever decide to take it off the uniform.
i cant sew well anymore i used to do it very well but now i suck at it im scard i might mess up the patch or suit
C’mon, and I’m not trying to be mean here, this is a prop building site, suck it up and sew the patch on. I mean if you can’t even do that you are in the wrong hobby.
im just sayin my pro is like packs and suff im not real good at that i just don want my suit to be flawed in any way i just got it today and its great perfect fit awsome
I don’t understand how you say that you used to be good at sewing, but now your not good enough to sew on a patch? I mean its not that hard, esp. if you used to be really good. Just wondering cause it ain’t making a whole lot of sense to me. But yea getting someone to sew it on is the best way to go, but ironing on doesn’t look horrible either.
If you’re that worried about sewing it on, have your mom do it. If your mom can’t do it, get another mom. All mom’s should know how to do stuff like that.. (Oh that’s right. Sexist all the way.) :lol:
You’re thinking of Stitch Witchery, available here (Amazon.com) or at Wal-Mart.
In my experience anything you attach with this stuff can be peeled off again with some effort, but it will leave a residue behind. (I’ve seen instructions somewhere online that tell you how to get rid of it.) It’s handy, but you really can’t beat the durability of stitches. Maybe you could use the Stitch Witchery to get the patch where you wanted it, then sew it on for extra durability.

Good call. Also, just for future reference, a lot of people who sew, use safety pins to pin the patch in place before sewing it on the item of clothing. It’s a common practice with people who sew regularly, and helps cut back on peeling off unwanted residue later. Good luck!
