Paul Feig's April Fools

I agree, cut us some slack indeed. We’re the ones who have to endure kids choice awards and April fools jokes being nitpicked to death. For a fandom based on a comedy, there is very little sense of humor to be found. You’d think we were a bunch of Nolanites with all the bitter brooding going on.

I have a sense of humor when the joke isn’t stuck on repeat. Had a strange feeling of deja vu so I looked up the lego dimensions cameo that no one seemed to remember.

We all have deja vu every day on this board. And pretty much anywhere else fans gather. Just today I saw someone complaining about the emails again. It’s beyond silly at this point and just tiring.

Feig is not going to read these forums, he’s not likely to ever see your complaints. All you’re doing is complaining to us…about an April Fools joke…

It’s not that I don’t remember, it’s just that I don’t care if it’s a continuation of a previous joke he now makes towards a bigger public, because it feels like just another nitpick to complain about.

It’s getting beyond silly how much complaining there still is or just gets repeated.

And again, just gotta say, the alternative to the constant complaining is to post about the GB movies you do like. Which somehow barely seems to happen.

I actually had a great conversation in the new comic thread about interdimensional beings and their powers. MrMichael provided some great insights. How refreshing to just talk GB instead of complaining to each other!

I’m waiting for the graphic novel on the new comic. It absolutely sucks that comics are almost five bucks an issue now.

Robert Zemeckis: “Over My Dead Body”

Wonder what the next GB movie will be like. Continuation of 84/89 (the next generation maybe?) or another reboot?

I think the new animated movie might follow up on the 84/89 timeline. I feel it’s the easiest way to continue the characters without making them seem old or dead. That’s seems such a downer.

They still can do a ‘new team takes over’ kinda thing, but for an animation it’s not necessary to make the old characters obsolete.

It will also depend if they still consider the videogame as canon or tie things up with 2016 to create a huge canon universe. With each universe having slightly different rules to spice up the ghost catching for instance. I know some would not like that last one, but perhaps a new director can add to the story, just like IDW seems to be doing and Ivan seems keen on bringing us all together with the least amount of toe stepping.

Anyways, I hope we get some info soon!

Uh huh. Too bad he didn’t feel that way about sequels. : P

I’ve only seen each one once, but I liked the BTTF sequels.

If they chose to do a sequal the cast is old enough now where you wouldn’t have deal with that bad aging make up.

Was it BTTF 2 or 3? I know 2 has the cool future stuff, I just found the overall plot to be really sloppy and the whole “I’m playing a relative with some really bad make up on” just over the top. BTTF 3 wasn’t as sloppy but it’s like we’re getting further and further into B movie territory here.

Yeah, that part was a little weird in the second one. I heard that Zemeckis took inspiration for the Biff character from Trump, although I don’t know if that’s true or not. Fake News! I’m not sure whether it was the end of the second movie or the beginning of the third one, but I really liked the part when Doc went back to the wild west and as soon as he was gone the guy from the post office came and gave Marty the letter from Doc from the past.

The comparison I can make off the top of my head is Donald Trump launching a missile strike. Now not everyone was happy with that action although some supported it. Imagine if tomorrow knowing full well the backlash against what he did he said he was going to launch a missile strike against Iraq but at the last minute said “only joking”. Is that the best thing way to mend relations? :expressionless:

See, Zemeckis has the right approach.

The sequels were great so that’s not an issue. I mean is the world asking for a gender swapped Back to the Future? :-?

But why did he have to set the BTTF fans on edge as well? That’s harsh.

The Metro and MSN just regurgitate news from other sites. I’m sure they didn’t write the article and probably just copied and pasted most of it.

It’s like he’s thinking “ah screw it, I’ve annoyed some movie fans I might as well go the whole way”.

This is why I wait for the trade paperback.

Yeah I’ll let his speak for itself:

I really doubt that’s the comparison you conjured “off the top of your head.”

I watched both of them once. That was all the cringe I could stand.

The missile strike was the right thing to do. What amazes me is they are trying to give credit for this to Hillary who supposedly mentioned the idea of a missile retaliation hours before Trump made his decision.

This Russian collusion stuff is going to be in the media for as long as possible. It reminds me of when Bush was elected and we had to listen to “they stole the election” for nine plus years. He’s going to get backlash on whatever he decides to do.

I just cant picture Donald on the phone asking Hillary for advice on, anything.

Hey now, that glass ceiling ain’t gonna break itself.

Agreed.

Maybe there’s a reason for that… Here’s an interesting link: https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/national/trump-russia/?tid=ss_fb&utm_term=.37d815176fd5
